You're Voting for Truth, Independence and Justice with a Vote for Mike Nerheim.

State's Attorney candidate Mike Nerheim offers Lake County voters an election eve message of truth, independence and an unwavering commitment to justice

Election Eve:

Mike Nerheim Message To The Voters Of Lake County

My family is my campaign team, and my campaign manager is a colleague I respect. That's independence. No strings attached!

This has been a campaign of love of family, community pride and a desire to do good, and keep our families safe.

It's a campaign focused on the future of what needs to be done, and bringing the professional experience, personal demeanor and support necessary to bring fairness, justice, leadership, independence... and Integrity to the Lake County State's Attorney's Office.

I'm no insider, that's for sure.

We've run a grassroots campaign that has picked up great support and continues to bring the community together around issues related to fighting crime, ensuring justice, prosecuting fairly and accurately, and bringing fresh thinking and bold reforms to the State's Attorney's Office.

To tackle the wrongful conviction issue, my independent case review panel has been heralded as a defining initiative, earning high praise and major endorsements. The plan, which has been vetted by the Chicago Tribune, Daily Herald, the legal community and law enforcement, is based on a successful program already in place, yet my opponent is saying it is not workable because he either doesn't fully understand it or he is simply playing politics.

As I've stated from day one of my campaign, I am beholden to no person, group, party or special interests. I am a hardworking trial attorney dedicated to justice, with deep family roots in Lake County. I am proud to accept the support of such a diverse community of Republicans, Democrats and Independent voters--representing citizens, civic and community leaders and law enforcement professionals. These are people who live and work all across our county and love it as much as I do.  People like Pam Pavlik of Grayslake who have taken the time to share with other voters here on The Patch their reasons for supporting me and to help educate voters about the real issues.   Read:  "Mike Nerheim 'Clear Choice' for Lake County State's Attorney.

Got a Question? Just Ask.

There are a lot of misleading comments being posted and shared (and mailed) which are easy to see through. And if anyone has a question, you can visit the campaign website at www.mikenerheim2012com.  If there is something else you want to ask, I encourage you to contact me for an answer directly. Send an email to campaign@mikenerheim2012.com or call 224-848-2012 and I will respond.

Your support on Tuesday means that we will all work together to crack down on criminals, while being absolutely rock solid in our prosecution, focusing not on politics but on the real issues of importance to protect the rights, safety and quality of life for all who call our county home.

It's about Justice. There is no place for politics in the State's Attorney's Office.

Did you accept a campaign donation from the current disgraced States Attorney, Waller? Is your campaign manager a long term insider in the States Attorney office or what diverse experience does he bring to your campaign? Do you really expect us to accept that your chosen, but unnamed panel will assure openness and integrity? The States Attorney is not only criminal, but civil. What is your civil litigation experience? Did you accept 14,000 dollars our more from owners(Cancer treatment Centers of America - for profit cancer treatment center connected to Freedom Works (tea party ) PAC? There are many more questions that go to the root of your claim of "I am not an insider"

The State’s Attorney chose to attend a recent campaign event open to the public and like everyone else he paid to attend. Michael Ori is an attorney in private practice. He does not work in the State’s Attorney’s Office. An independent panel that includes experienced individuals outside of Lake County is the best way to fairly review wrongful convictions. I have handled civil cases, although the majority of my experience is criminal experience which is a tremendous advantage for your next State’s Attorney. The list of contributors is public record. Thanks for your questions and the opportunity help set the record straight for the voters of Lake County.
