Dr. Benge practices general and preventative cardiology and specializes in interventional cardiology, a practice that includes installing cardiac stents in order to prevent or stop a heart attack. He also performs transesophageal echocardiograms, which assess the heart’s function and produce a clearer image of the heart than the traditional echocardiogram, and manages pacemakers for patients.

A graduate of the University of New Mexico School of Medicine, Dr. Benge practiced in Albuquerque, NM from 1980 to 2000 where he was the medical director of two heart programs. He and his family have lived in Lake Forest since 2001 and are active members of the community.
