Lake Forest Ill. – The Health and Fitness Centers of Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital were once again recognized in the Top 100 Fitness Centers in the county by Club Industry. The combined locations—Lake Forest Health and Fitness Center and Lindenhurst Health and Fitness Center—ranked fourth in hospital-owned wellness centers.
“This is a great accomplishment for our facilities,” says Eric Nelson, general manager of Lindenhurst Health and Fitness Center. “Our staff is constantly working to create new and exciting programs for the community. This award validates the efforts we have made to bring high quality fitness opportunities to Lake County residents.”
This is the third year that the Health and Fitness Centers of Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital have been recognized. For the recognition, organizations are evaluated and compared based on their total gross revenue. Additionally, the Health and Fitness Centers of Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital are recognized as one of the first hospital-owned fitness centers in the country and are known as a leader in the Medical Fitness Association, an organization for medically-based fitness and wellness centers.
“The biggest advantage of medically-based fitness centers is that we’re able to accommodate a full spectrum of patrons,” says Brian S. Lewis, interim general manager of Lake Forest Health and Fitness Center. “Local world-class athletes train here daily. But we also offer award-winning programs and regimens for people who are high-risk for diabetes, heart disease, cancer and other conditions. Area residents will find that we have something to offer everyone, no matter their fitness level.”
Lake Forest Health and Fitness Center has been in operation since 1994, and Lindenhurst Health and Fitness Center opened its doors in 2000. Both state-of-the-art centers feature personal trainers, lap pools and group fitness classes. For more information on either center, please visit www.health-fitnesscenters.com.
