Neurosurgeon Joins Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital

Neurosurgeon Adebukola Onibokun, MD, FAANS, has joined Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital, bringing expertise in minimally invasive cranial and spinal surgery. Onibokun sees patients at the Northwestern Medical Group multi-specialty clinic at 800 N. Westmoreland Road, Suite 102, in Lake Forest, and at the Northwestern Medicine Glenview Outpatient Center in Glenview.  He performs surgery at Northwestern Lake Forest. He also serves as a health system clinician in neurological surgery at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.

“Dr. Onibokun’s expertise in brain and spinal injuries, with a specific focus on spinal surgery, complements our team of neurosurgeons,” said Michael G. Ankin, MD, FACP, FCCP, a pulmonologist at Northwestern Lake Forest and the hospital’s vice president of medical affairs and chief medical officer.  “Dr. Onibokun shares our team’s focus on a patient-centered neurology practice providing patients access to care for a broad range of neurological disorders.”

Onibokun is board certified in neurological surgery and received his medical degree from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. He completed an internship in surgery at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles and a residency in neurosurgery at UCLA Medical Center.  Most recently he was member of the medical staff at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital in Elmhurst, Ill.

Onibokun’s research has been published in leading neurological medical publications and to organizations such as the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, of which he is a member.  He is also a member of the North American Spine Society, North American Skull Base Society and the Congress of Neurological Surgeons.
