2013 LFHS Alum Benjamin Asma Dies

Asma, 19, was a student at George Washington University. A memorial fund in his name is being established.

The following obituary is from Wenban Funeral Home:

Benjamin Richard Asma, Jr., 19, of Lake Bluff, IL passed away on April 2, 2014 in Washington, D.C.

He was a 2013 graduate of Lake Forest High School and was currently attending George Washington University where he was majoring in bio-medical engineering and pre-med. At LFHS he was an outstanding student with a passion for math, science, swimming and music, participating in Jazz Band, Wind Ensemble, Pep-Band and the LFHS Orchestra. 

Benjamin is survived by his parents, Ben R. and Leann M. Asma nee Bewalda; his brother Charlie and his sister Eleanor and a large extended family.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m., Wednesday, April 9 at the Church of St. Mary, 175 E. Illinois Road, Lake Forest. Funeral Mass at 10 a.m., Thursday at the Church of St. Mary. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund in Benjamin’s name will be established.
