Carolyn McLaughlin, Realtor and Philanthropist, Dies

She lived with her family in Lake Forest for many years.

The following obituary is from Wenban Funeral Home. Carolyn McLaughlin lived in Lake Forest for many years before moving to Chicago:

Carolyn McLaughlin passed away in the afternoon of July 16, 2014 with her loving husband and all her children by her side in Chicago, Illinois. A funeral mass will be held at 10 AM, Monday, July 21 at Church of St. Mary, 175 E. Illinois Road, Lake Forest. A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, please contact Wenban Funeral Home for information – 847-234-0022 or www.wenbanfh.com. Interment at Lake Forest Cemetery.

She was born January 21, 1945 in Niagara Falls, New York to Arthur and Alice Muldoon.  She graduated from University of Indiana.  She was an educator in Birmingham, Michigan and Rogers, Arkansas.  She had a successful career in Real Estate and was a champion advocate and philanthropist.  She was devoted wife, mother and friend.

She was married to George McLaughlin for more than 40 years.  They raised 4 successful children together.

Carolyn was a very compassionate generous and loving person to all who have known her.  Her zest for life was expressed in her tireless commitment and love for her family, kindness with her friends, her fearless spirit and determination.  She was a woman of unstoppable measure.  Her influence on the heart’s the people she touched will be seen in generations to come.

Carolyn McLaughlin is survived by her husband George McLaughlin, children Chris McLaughlin, Julie McLaughlin, Jim McLaughlin, Cherie Phillips and 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandson.
