Thomasine Berlinger, aged 88, passed peacefully on February 6th at her home in Lake Forest. Her loving family was a major comfort to her throughout the last several months especially her daughter Donna Mercier, her husband Chuck, and their children. Thomasine was born on July 8th 1925, the daughter of Christenzo and Anna Chirchirillo.
In 1946, she married the love of her life Donald Berlinger who passed away in 1992. Her sisters and brothers, Rose, Nicolette, Sam, Phillip, Joseph, and her nephew Chris will be welcoming her in heaven with open arms.
Thomasine who preferred to be called Tommye enjoyed traveling with her Husband and spending time with her children Tom and Donna as well as her grandchildren Christopher, Matt, Donnielle, Megan, Marc, Michael, Chip and Rachael. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Andrew, Velinda, Steven and Debbie and her great grandchildren, Mason, Madden and Michael and of course each family member’s spouse and her great friends. Her family and friends happiness meant everything to Tommye, she always put everyone first.
There will be a funeral service for friends and family at 10 a.m. on Monday, February 10 at the Church of St. Mary, 175 E. Illinois Road, Lake Forest. Visitation will be held prior to Mass from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at Wenban Funeral Home, 320 Vine Avenue, Lake Forest. Interment will be at Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville.
