Lake Forest Resident for 36 Years Dead at 77

Enjoyed summers on the coast of Maine.

 

A former aerial photographer who served in Hawaii during the Korean War, Lake Forest resident Thomas R. Meeks, 77, died April 20 in his home.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. May 5 at the , 400 E. Westminister Road, in Lake Forest.

 Meeks was a graduate of Iona College in New Rochelle, NY and received his law degree from New York University in 1962. He practiced law and later went on to be a director at the Mutual of New York Life Insurance Co.

A resident of Lake Forest for 36 years, Meeks and his wife, Selene, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2009.

The couple summered at Swans Island on the coast of Maine for more than 40 years. Meeks is survived by his wife Selene, son Thomas (Holly), and grandchildren Forster, Finn and Eleanor. He is also survived by his sister, Marie Maguire, and six nephews and nieces.
