Lake Forest Woman Was Active in Theatre, Christ Church

Edith Hill dies at age 85.

 

Edith Ann Hill made her mark on the stage and tireless work as a volunteer.

The Lake Forest woman died June 8 at age 85. Visitation will be held at noon Monday (June 11) at , 100 N. Waukegan Road. The service will start at 1 p.m. Interment to follow at Lake Forest Cemetery.

Hill (nee LaConte), formerly of West Palm Beach, Fla. and Wickliffe, Ohio, was active in the Doboma Theatre Co. in Cleveland, Ohio and Euclid Little Theatre in Euclid, Ohio. She volunteered at Christ Church of Lake Forest.

During her career, Hill spent many years as an executive assistant in the pipe machinery industry in Cleveland. She moved to West Palm Beach, Fla., where she became an event planner at the Holiday Inn.

Hill is survived by her children, Robert Hill, Kimberly (Bob) Seeds, Arthur (Tricia) Hill, Jr. and Patricia (Jim) Kloman; her grandchildren, Robert Hill, III, Robert Seeds, III, Theodore Seeds, Priscilla Seeds, Alexandra Hill, Olivia Hill, Zachary Chastain, Joseph Chastain, Samuel Chastain and Kimberly Chastain; one great-grandson, Anthony Hill; her sister, Dorothy Bonasera, and her brother, Frank LaConte.

She was preceded in death by her ex-husband and lifetime friend, Arthur Hill; her siblings, Pat LaConte, John LaConte, Nicholas LaConte, Mary Chipolletti, Lena Varanese and Josephine Gambatese.

Memorials in Edith’s name may be made to: St. James Society, c/o Christ Church of Lake Forest, 100 N. Waukegan Road, Lake Forest, IL 60045, to assist those in need in the local community.
