During World War II, Frank E. Loring was part of of the Admirals Band in Brooklyn, NY, playing both the saxophone and clarinet in the U.S. Navy.
A resident of and Delray Beach, Fla., for 50 years, Loring, 88, died May 9.
For more than 35 years, Loring worked for Aubrey Lanston & Co. in Chicago. He retired in 1989 as senior vice president and head of the Chicago office. He was a member of the and the Gulf Stream Little Club.
Loring is survived by his wife, Vera Loring of Lake Forest, a son, Steven W. Loring of Lake Forest, and two daughters, Anita (Jack Brown) White-Brown of Antioch and Caralyn (Sasha von Varga) Graham of Glencoe.
He was grandfather of Leslie White, Haley Graham, Frankie Graham, Mia von Varga, step granddaughters Jennifer (David) Loicano, and Sarah Brown, Andrew Misika, and great grandchildren. Loring was the uncle of Carol (Brian) Dupuis and nephews, Michael, Erik and Tom.
