Obituary: Eric Steven Bower, 61, Invented the DU-KO Game

Bower, of Lake Bluff, was a Grand Knight of the Wilmette and Techny Council. Visitation is Friday and a funeral mass will be held Saturday.

Eric Steven Bower, 61, of Lake Bluff, Grand Knight of Wilmette and Techny Council for many years, inventor of the DU-KO Game, beloved father and husband passed away Feb. 6, 2013.

Born in Chicago, IL to Catherine, nee Grace, and Frank Albert Bower. Loving husband of Diane Golniewicz Bower for 33 years; dearest father of Kathryn (Scott) Petty, Terese (Tim) McIlvain, Margaret, Brigid, Lucia and Grace Bower. Proud Papa to Bernadette and Nora Petty, Elijah Eric and Ruth McIlvain and Nicholas Albert; dear brother to Holly (James) Hayes, Mary Lou Lepa, Carol (Dino) Diversiev and the late Jennifer Campbell; loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.

His countless acts of generosity and compassion touched the lives of many. Steve will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Visitation at Wenban Funeral Home, 320 Vine Ave., Lake Forest, IL 60045, 3-9PM Friday. Funeral Mass Saturday, February 9, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. at the Church of St. Mary, 175 E. Illinois Rd., Lake Forest. Interment at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines, IL.
