Obituary: Nora Farwell Chandler, Field Museum and RIC Board Member

Chandler, 84, was also a deacon at First Presbyterian Church of Lake Forest and the daughter of the founder of the city's school district.

Nora Farwell Chandler, 84, a resident of Lake Forest passed away on Saturday, January 19, 2013. She is survived by her brothers Kent, Henry, and Bruce Chandler.

After graduation from Vassar College, she went to work for several banks and organizations in New York. On her return to Chicago, she continued to work in the financial industry. She then resigned and went to live with and take care of her mother and father.

She was a charter member of Women’s Board of the Field Museum and served on the Women’s Board of the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago for 40 Years.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago.

Memorial service 11am, Friday, January 25, 2013 at the First Presbyterian Church of Lake Forest 700 N. Sheridan Rd., Lake Forest, where Nora had formerly been a Deacon. Interment will be private.
