War Veteran Joseph Keig: 1923-2012

Former Navy man worked in maritime law.

 

A veteran of World War II and the Korean War, Lake Forest resident Joseph Keig, 89, died March 29.

Keig served in the U.S. Navy. He was a graduate of Northwestern Law School, and worked worked in the Litigation Department of McDermott, Will & Emery's Chicago office focusing on insurance regulation and maritime law.

Keig is survived by his wife, Agnes Keig, nee Sheldon. He was preceded in death by his sister, Alice Wilson, and brothers John, Peter and Patrick Keig. He was the uncle of many nieces and nephews.

There will be no visitation. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. April 13 at the Church of St. Mary, 175 E. Illinois Road, in Lake Forest. Interment will be private at St. Mary Cemetery in Lake Forest.
