Hey Lake Forest and Lake Bluff! Where were You for the Feb. 2011 Blizzard?

Two years ago Feb. 1, Chicagoland was hit with more than 20 inches of snow in some areas, a far cry from what we have today, though snow is in the forecast for this weekend.

At this time two years ago, things looked a lot whiter outside as the Blizzard of 2011 dumped upwards of 20 inches of snow over the Chicago region.

Snowplow crews in Lake Forest and Lake Bluff worked around the clock to clean it up, reported Patch.

The snow storm caused widespread power outages, school and business closings, stranded drivers and caused a big old mess, reported the Chicago Tribune, which offers a photo gallery of the white-out of 2011.

The National Weather Service is forecasting snow this weekend, with a chance for accumulation of one to three inches. Not quite 20, though!
