How Bigotry and Hate is accepted as alright by those who choose to attack Law Abidding Citizens that own guns.

I find it amusing and sometimes appaulling, the level of angry, hateful and Bigoted remarks made by some people that attack law abidding Gun Owners. The name calling, like "Gun Nut" and other derogatory names and titles. We would not accept this kind of hatred and Bigotry towards a person of a certain Race or Religion or Sexual Orientation, yet we have been trained to not only accept this behavior, but to also be a part of it. The Second Amendment is a Constitutional Right that has been re-affirmed by SCOTUS in the Heller Case and again in the McDonald Case. Recently the Illinois Supreme Court Ruled that the Right to Bear Arms, extends beyond the Home. This was a follow-up to the Seventh District Federal Court of Appeals Ruling that struck down the Illinois Ban on Concealed Carry of a firearm. Soon, a woman from Illinois that is in fear of her life from an abusive Ex or a Stalker, will be able to defend herself and not be another victim, like Diane Kephart of Vernon Hills. We seem to have a mental dis-connect going on in North-East Illinois. We have been force-fed a daily media sound byte of the "Gun Violence", "Common sense Gun Laws" and the most recent, "Gun Safety" non sense. The propaganda has one intent, to make people hate guns and those who own them legally or otherwise. It is a form of Social Engineering that is attempting to change our perception of guns and the Constitutional Right to to own them. Look at the stories in the news about a kid being Expelled for drawing a picture of a "GUN" or look at how the Criminal Gang Violence in Chicago, is labled as "Gun Violence". What happened to holding the Criminal responsible for his or her actions, when did an object become the criminal? While some people may want to undermine and attack our Second Amendment Right to Bear Arms, nobody should accept Bigotry and hatred against any group that is not breaking any laws and in fact is merely exercising a law... a Constitutional Right. I ask those who say that only Cops should have guns... Do you remember the Three Civil Rights Activists killed in Mississippi? They were falsly Arrested and turned over to the Klan. To those who say only the military needs guns... Do you remember Kent State? To all African Americans... Do you remember the stories of the Klan and the Lynching Mobs? To all people who value Liberty and the Right to defend your lives and your Families lives... Do you want to be dis-armed and defenseless? If we allow the Media to dictate how we think and allow NYC Mayor Bloomberg to tell us how to live... then Liberty has died. We need to open our eyes to the facts and look beyond the headlines and sound bytes. The FBI Reports, say that Chicago has more Criminal Gang Members and more Criminal Gangs than any other city in America. Over 150,000 Criminal Gang Members, live and operate in Chicago, according to the FBI. The Cook County Jail is the nations largest single County Jail in the nation and it it filled to full capacity at over 10,000 inmates. Now, when you consider the shear number of violent criminals in Chicago and the fact that there is very little room to lock them up... no wonder there is so much violence in Chicago. The Cook County President Toni Preckwinkle and the Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel have made strides towards fighting this epidemic of murder and violence but all too often, blame "Guns" for the actions of the Criminals. There are over 300 Million guns in America, no law is going to keep a criminal from possessing one, but the law did keep many victims from possessing one. People like Nicole Brown Simpson and more locally Diane Kephart. She was hunted down and Murdered by her Ex-Partner. She did everything legally possible to keep him away from her... but an Order of Protection is just a piece of paper. Our Daughters need to be able to defend themselves from whatever may come to harm them, it is their Right to Life, Liberty and the pursuit of happiness that we must Honor, not the Rights of a criminal to take her life, because it brings him happiness. Think about how a gun is used to defend millions of Families across this nation everyday, before you allow the Right to Bear Arms to be trampled on. Stand up and speak out, when somebody is being a Bigot, name calling and slandering another citizen, for being a "Gun Owner". We respect Womens Rights, Civil Rights, Gay Rights and many others... we need to accept a persons Right to exercise their Right to Bear Arms.
