We adore Village Green Montessori! The teachers are the most caring and fun individuals any child and parent could ask for to launch their children's education. Both of my girls have thrived at VGM and we wish they could stay there past kindergarten. Only sorry we didn't live here when my oldest was preschool age. My children have also benefited from the extras at VGM - be it art, cooking, spanish, sports classes. We love Village Green!

Precious Lambs Preschool gets my vote hands down! I cannot say enough about this school! All the teachers are God honoring and love what they do. The curriculum and environment is fantastic. If your looking for an environment that makes you feel like you are loved as a part of a bigger family unit you will find it at Precious Lambs!

Precious Lambs is hands down the best preschool! The teachers and director are caring, loving and treat all of the students like family. My son loves going to school and my other son asks every day when it will be his turn.

We could not be happier with our decision to send our son to Precious Lambs. He loves his teachers and the school, as do we. Everyone is so welcoming and great at identifying the needs of all of the children. Our son is shy and timid, but has come out of his shell thanks to the comfort he feels at school. Can't recommend enough!!

Precious Lambs Preschool! We are in our 7th straight year there... need I say more!? :) The love of Jesus is shared and taught, the most important "lesson" there is to learn in life!

Kinderhaven is a school where the teachers connect with the students and the students connect with each other. What a wonderful place to kick-start a lifelong love of learning.

Grayslake Cooperative Nursery School gets our vote! After checking into many options, I was drawn there because of the parent involvement, the teaching staff, the field trips, the hands on learning environment and the overall feeling of family. The facility is bright, sunny and inspiring and we love it!

All of my children went to the Grayslake Coop. We loved it there. The teachers cannot be beat and the children are so well prepared for Kindergarten. Not just academically, but emotionally and socially. There is no better preschool in Grayslake.

Grayslake Cooperative Nursery School - hands down! I loved how family-oriented the school is - great opportunities for parent involvement. Wonderful and experienced teaching staff.
Nightcrawler April 27, 2012 at 09:19 PM
Considering its longevity and the obvious loyalty expressed by past parents and students, I'd say the Grayslake Coop must be doing something right. It certainly did in our family's case. While my daughter was there in 1991-92, she built a couple of friendships that continue to this day. And our participation as parents proved a great way to get acquainted with what was then our new hometown.

When the time comes to loosen the apron strings and begin your childs education, it can be a little stressful to say in the least. Coming from a long line of educators, finding the "perfect" school is of most importance. Through research and the ever most efficient *word of mouth* GCNS, in my opinion by far exceeds any other preschool around. The teachers, I can honestly say, met their callings. The way they teach, with such enthusiam and excitement, well, in my opinion, is such a breath of fresh air. My children thrived at the GCNS and continue to excell now as 5th and 2nd graders. GCNS gave my children the stepping stones they needed not only to become excellent students, but gave them a boost of the social skills needed as well. Overall, the best decision I have made up to this point with education, is sending my children to GCNS.

We support Precious Lambs Preschool -- it is a creative, wonderful place where children grow and families feel welcome. Our first child entered the program nearly 10 years ago and our youngest graduated last year; they still love to visit their teachers and director. The kindergarten enrichment program (KEEP) is a gift to area children. We have always been impressed with the actions of this modest school, including how it raises considerable funds every year not for fancy digs but for scholarship programs. A host of parents whose children graduated years ago still volunteer! It’s great to see such support for preschools. I might suggest that everyone needs great schools where they live and work, not just the “best in a county.” I hope one take-away from this is the unveiling of some new places for young families, and when it’s time they can take their short list, get recommendations from neighbors/friends and go on visits to find a good fit. Do this with an open mind, be suspect of hype, and lean toward kindness. The rest will fall into place.
