Shields Township Reform?

At the First meeting of Supervisor Cynthia Mallony it came to my attention that she had spend over $1,000.00 taxpayer dollars on a "Mold Inspection" of the office. For the first several weeks she instructed staff to walk from the 2nd floor of the office to the parking lot and have her sign checks as she sat in her car as she beleived the building was full of mold. WHAT??? yep you read correct. She told me in the public meeting that several employees including herslf felt ill from the mold in the office, yet the staff kept coming to work as she sat in her car. I asked if she had obtained bids for the inspection. She said "yes" but only verbal. She paid the over $1,000.00 invoice, so I asked for a copy of the report. She did not have one, WHAT??? you approve a bill with taxpayer money and you have no report?? Second meeting, I asked who was present during the inspection, her husband and Jan Schonbrich and her husband, WHAT??? No trustees? What about the landlord? Jan Schonbrich is a long time hater of the township. Now she is concerned about mold? She futher stated that Mr. Schnobrich was an architect and new this guy and his company, WHAT??? Why not call the Lake County Health Department? Now a flash of sanity! Trustee Goshgarian did just that and commented that he had a copy of this report and had discussed the report with the Lake County Health Department. His understanding from the LCHD analysis was that the air outside had a larger mold "reading" than the air inside the office. This is reform? The supervisor has a board of trustees to work with not Jan Schnobrich! The board should now demand that Ms. Mallony & Jan Schnobrich repay the taxpayers for this squandering of Taxpayer funds! It should also be noted that Jan Schnobrich’s daughter is Kathy Blahunka the next Shields Township Assessor, what will that bring us? As I believe in full disclosure, I was a candidate for Highway Commissioner in the last election and continue to want good honest government in Shields, this is not either.
