You Would be Lucky to Have Shamrock

Cattle dog/pit mix has spent six years at Orphans of the Storm.

We wandered into Orphans of the Storm in Riverwoods the other day, and were amazed at how many great dogs are waiting for a loving home.

Some of them have been there for far too long, watching others parade by on their way to their forever homes. Please take a look at these dogs who have spent years at this Lake County shelter, and maybe think of a friend or family member that needs the company of a lonely dog.

This dog really, really, really needs a home. Shamrock is a beautiful 7-year-old Cattle dog/pit mix who has spent six years (yes, six years) at Orphans of the Storm.

She needs to be the only dog in the house, since she isn't fond of other dogs or cats. She also likes to jump over fences (sigh) so she is not for everyone.

But she is so sweet, licking your hand, when she is not curled up in a sad ball, facing away from the front of her kennel, since she seems to have given up hope of ever finding the right person. There has to be someone out there for her!

Here is her description:

You will be the lucky one when you adopt Shamrock. This special girl has been wishing on a star every night since 2006. Please help make her wish come true. She is wonderful with people but needs to be the only pet in her new home. She loves to go for walks and spend quality time together. There's more to this gal than meets the eye. Ask Kris! Get acquainted with Shamrock off leash in one of our family run areas.
