Gorton Center's 2013 Musical Summer Camp presents The Little Mermaid

Disney's The Little Mermaid swims into the Gorton Community Center in Lake Forest this summer as part of the Performing Arts Summer Theatre Academy's 2013 Musical Theatre Summer Camp.

The Gorton Community Center in Lake Forest, Illinois is hosting The Performing Arts Summer Theatre Academy's 2013 summer theatre performance camp with Disney’s The Little Mermaid.

The Performing Arts Summer Theatre Academy (aka PASTA) is a four-week theatre performance summer camp that will develop young actors in all aspects of the theatre arts. All students get the chance to perform, sing, dance and act. It’s all about opportunity and learning as well as the fun and excitement of putting on a big musical production.

This is the 9th season for PASTA and they are excited to offer this brand new Disney musical to the young actors in the area.

This stage adaptation of the 1989 classic movie has all of the favorite characters and famous songs. Campers will get an opportunity to play Ariel, Sebastian, Flounder, Scuttle, Ursula, Prince Eric, Chef Louie, and many more.

All campers play a lead role in one performance and a supporting role in another show.

PASTA camp runs from June 17 to July 15 meeting from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM Monday through Friday at the Gorton Community Center in Lake Forest, Illinois.

Disney’s The Little Mermaid is directed by Golden Apple Award-winning teacher Tom Beck with music direction by Elaine Ellis and costumes by Sue R. Beck.

The performances will be on Saturday, July 13 and Sunday, July 14, at 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM.
