Burglary

Peter Frangos, 53, 2609 W. Berwyn, Chicago, and John J. Furto, Jr., 6700 Taft St., Schererville, Ind., were each charged with residential burglary at 11:30 a.m. Dec. 22 in the 1200 block of Longmeadow Lane. The two suspects were involved with two others in a forced burglary of a residence on Aug. 16, 2011. A safe and cash were taken. The two men were held on a $250,000 bond pending a Dec. 22 court date in Waukegan. No further information was available. Arrest warrants have been issued for the other two suspects.

Unknown suspect(s) broke a side light to the front door to gain access to a house in the 1700 block of Millburne Road at 6:16 p.m. Dec. 15. Jewelry is known to be taken at this time. Victims are preparing a list of items taken. No known value of items at this time.

Victim returned home from shopping and discovered the residence burglarized in the 1000 block of Highland Avenue on Dec. 16. The theft occurred between 4:30 p.m. and 5:37 p.m. Unknown subjects forced the front door open to gain access to the home. A second floor bedroom was ransacked. Jewelry was taken. Unknown value of items at this time.

Driving Under the Influence (DUI)

Elizabeth Gannon, 53, 540 Stockbridge Court, Lake Forest, was changed with DUI, DUI over .08, expired registration, failure to leave information after a property damage accident at 12:44 a.m. Dec. 16 near the intersection of Conway Farms and Amberly Court. Police responded to a possible drunk driver. Gannon had driven over a lawn, knocked down a mailbox and damaged a fence. She was transported to Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital. She refused field sobriety tests, but submitted a breath sample that indicated a blood alcohol level content of .198. She posted a $3,000 personal recognizance bond pending a Jan. 10, 2012 court date in Waukegan.

Retail Theft

William Haberland, 52, 499 E. College Road, Lake Forest, was served a warrant for the charge of retail theft at 9:50 p.m. Dec. 17 in the 400 block of College Road. The retail theft occurred in Northbrook. He was turned over to Northbrook Police Department.

Theft

Unknown suspect(s) stole a UPS package from the front porch area of a home at 5:56 p.m. Dec. 15 in the 700 block of Washington Road. The offenders were observed by surveillance cameras taking the package. Contents of the package were valued at $400. No description of the offender could be given.

 

LAKE BLUFF

Stray Dog

A complainant said she located a yellow Labrador Retriever wearing a Wisconsin Badger collar running outside the Public Safety Building at 7:41 a.m. Dec. 21. The dog was taken to Knollwood Animal Hospital.

No Valid Driver's License

Jaimes Samuel, 19, of Gurnee, was charged with no valid driver's license and speeding at 7:22 p.m. Dec. 19 near the intersection of Skokie Highway and Rockland Road. Officer conducted a traffic stop after Samuel's vehicle was clocked traveling 82 mph in a 55 mph zone. He posted a personal recognizance bond pending a Feb. 7 court date in Park City.
