Blotter: Dog Seen Walking on Roof of House; Woman Damages IV Bags at Hospital

Suspicious Circumstances

Officers responded to the 1900 block of Shoreacres Road at 2:33 p.m. Nov. 4, where they spoke to the complainant, who said a real estate agent is showing a residence to two subjects. The complainant said the two subjects were asking suspicious questions at another listing in the area and were concerned they were not legitimate buyers. Officers met with the real estate agent, who provided documentation that he is a legitimate real estate agent. The real estate agent said he was upset over the situation and left the residence with the clients. The officer contacted the homeowner at his request and advised him of the officer's findings.

Animal Complaint

An officer responded to the 10 block of East North Avenue at 5:01 p.m. Nov. 4 for a report of a dog walking around on the roof of a house. Upon arrival, the officer observed the dog on the roof next to an open second-story window. The dog went back into the residence as the officer approached the house. The homeowner was contacted and he said he would close the window to keep the dog inside for its own safety.

Parking Citations

An officer conducted parking enforcement at the Lake Bluff Train Depot and issued six citations for no daily permit at 12:55 p.m. Nov. 1.

Vehicle theft

A driver side window of a Hyundia Sante Fe was knocked out and a GPS unit valued at $70 was taken between 8:20 a.m. and 7:32 p.m. Nov. 3 at the Lake Bluff Train Depot, 600 N. Sheridan Road. The vehicle was parked in the southwest side of the parking lot. Police said the investigation is continuing.

No Driver's License, No Vehicle Insurance

Carlos A. Erazo, 38, of Waukegan, was charged with not having a driver's license or vehicle insurance at 4:54 a.m. Nov. 1 at 409 Skokie Highway. An officer responded to a motorist assist call on southbound Route 41. When he arrived, the officer asked the driver for identification, and the driver responded he did not have his license. Further investigation indicated the driver had no vehicle insurance. Erzao was released on a personal recognizance bond pending a Dec. 6 court date in Park City.

Domestic Battery

Frank DeMarie, 59, of Lake Bluff, was charged with domestic battery at 7:44 p.m. Oct. 30. DeMarie turned himself in to police on Nov. 1. The domestic incident took place at 97 Skokie Valley Boulevard where DeMarie struck the victim causing a redness around the left eye, which resulted in the victim being taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. The victim gave a statement to attending physicians, who then contacted Lake Bluff Police. DeMarie was taken to Lake County Jail for a bond hearing. No further information was available.

 

LAKE FOREST

Driving Under the Influence (DUI)

David McCormick, 35, 619 Hamlin Lane, Round Lake, was charged with driving under the influence, improper lane use, failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash, and failure to change address at 11:52 p.m. Oct. 23 near Route 41 and Old Elm Road. McCormick was involved in a crash where he struck the center median and then another vehicle. The officer reported smelling a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his mouth. McCormick failed one field sobriety test and then refused the rest. He refused to submit to further testing to determine his blood-alcohol content. He was released on a $100 bond and surrendered his driver's license pending a Nov. 15 court date in Waukegan.

Argenis Peralta, 20, 1259 N. Red Oak Circle, Round Lake, was charged with DUI, DUI over .08 and improper lane use at 4:30 a.m. Oct. 31 near Route 41 and Gage Lane. Peralta drove off the roadway and rolled his vehicle over. He was transported to Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital, where he was treated and released. Peralta submitted a breath sample that indicated a blood-alcohol level of .140. He was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond pending a Dec. 2 court date in Waukegan.

Warrant Arrest

Diego Lemus-Saucedo, 23, 32 S. Wisconsin Ave., Waukegan, was sought for a warrant arrest Class 4 felony, driving while his license was revoked and obstructing justice at 12:05 p.m. Oct. 30 in the 1000 block of South Green Bay Road. According to police, he drove a motor vehicle at a time when his license was revoked, and he knowingly furnished to a peace officer a false name and date of birth with the intent to prevent his apprehension. He was held at Lake County Jail on a $50,000 bond pending a Nov. 1 court date in Waukegan. No further information was available.

Lorraine P. Nichols, 62, 10833 W. Howard Ave., Beach Park, was sought for a warrant arrest Class 4 felony and criminal damage to property at 4:30 a.m. Oct. 31 near Route 41 and Gage Lane. Between Sept. 6 and Sept. 16, police said, Nichols knowingly damaged IV bags at Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital in excess of $300 but not more than $10,000. She posted a $3,000 bond pending a Nov. 18 court date in Waukegan.

Minor Consumption of Alcohol

Lake Forest Police responded to a large teen party in the 500 block of Briar Lane at 9:23 p.m. Oct. 29 where a 17-year-old female was arrested for consumption of alcohol while being under the age of 21. The party was attended by a large number of teens and considerable damage was done to the home. The case remains under investigation. The female teen was assigned an administrative hearing at 9 a.m. Dec. 14 at Lake Forest City Hall.

Burglary

A home in the 100 block of Laurel Avenue was burglarized between 3 p.m. Oct. 26 and 10:30 a.m. Oct. 29. The suspects took jewelry and clorthing. The value of the items is unknown. The case remains under investigation.

A home in the 100 block of Canterbury Court was burglarized at 3:30 p.m. Oct. 28. The subjects used forced entry on a north window to gain access to the house. The case remains under investigation.

Criminal Damage to Property

An object was thrown through the front window of a home in the 1200 block of Kajer Lane at 10:20 p.m. Oct. 28. The case remains under investigation.
