Blotter: Man Caught Using Victim's Credit Card to Purchase Four iPads

LAKE FOREST 

Driving Under the Influence (DUI)

William E. Pierce, 62, 9330 S. Kenwood, Chicago, was charged with driving under the influence, DUI over .08, illegal transportation of alcohol and improper lane usage at 8:20 p.m. Jan. 5 near the intersection of Route 41 and Old Elm Road. Pierce was reported as a reckless driver that had hit the curb on Green Bay Road. He was located and observed by the officer to making traffic lane violations. Pierce had an open bottle of alcohol in the rear passenger area of the vehicle. He failed field a sobriety test and submitted a breath sample, which indicated a blood alcohol concentration of .202. He post a $100 bond and his Illinois driver's license pending a Feb. 24 court date in Waukegan. 

Theft

Kyle Lazeric, 53, 11303 Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles, Calif., was charged with retail and unlawful use of credit cards at 10:01 a.m. Jan. 5 in the 100 block of Westleigh Road. Lazeric passed the police officer traveling 60 mph in a 35 mph zone. He was stopped and found to be in possession of four iPads, which exceed $300 in total value. Lazeric had used another person's credit card to make the purchase. He was held for a bond hearing pending a Jan. 5 court date in Waukegan. No further information was available. 

 

LAKE BLUFF 

Carbon Monoxide Detector

Officer responded to the 500 block of Lakeland Drive for an activated carbon monoxide detector at 6:55 p.m. Jan. 13. The Lake Bluff Fire Department responded and determined the dectector was faulty. The fire department provided a courtesy detector.
