Blotter: Lake Bluff Teen Charged with Theft at High School

LAKE FOREST

Theft, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

A 14-year-old Lake Bluff teen was charged with theft and possession of drug paraphernalia at 8:30 a.m. Jan. 3 at Lake Forest High School, 1285 N. McKlinley Road. The teen was charged with the theft of $100 taken from a school locker. He also possessed a metal grinder used to prepare cannabis for ingestion. He was released on a personal recognizance bond pending an April 3 court date in Park City. 

 

LAKE BLUFF 

Found Property

Officer responded to the area of Moffett Road and East Witchwood Lane for a report of a suspicious item on the guard rail at 2:58 p.m. Feb. 27. Officer located a voltmeter used to measure electricity. The item was entered into found property at the Public Safety Building.

Added March 6

Theft

Jonathan G. Nicholas, 27, of Chicago, was charged with theft at 8:20 p.m. March 1 at the Lake Bluff Train Depot, 600 N. Sheridan Road. Officers received a report of a suspicious man walking in the area of Oak and West Washington Avenues. The officer observed a man on a bike matching the description, and upon seeing officers, the man rode away in a hurried manner. Police followed the man to the Lake Bluff Train Depot. Nicholas said the bike belonged to his cousin, but could not produce an address of his cousin. The bike was a red and white Trek Alpha 3700. He was released pending a March 22 court date in Waukegan.

Theft

A woman came to the Public Safety Bulding at 1:13 p.m. Feb. 28 to report credit card theft at Starbucks, 203 S. Waukegan Road. The theft occurred between 10 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. that day. Her purse was hanging on the back of her chair. Two credit cards were taken and used for a purchase at Bed, Bath and Beyond for $13.50, and at Target for $1,526.81. No other information is available at this time.

Driving Under the Influence (DUI)

Lisa A. Whittington, 51, of Lake Bluff, was charged with improper backing, aggravated DUI and DUI plus other drugs at 5:11 p.m. Feb. 27 at 120 E. Scranton Ave. Whittington backed her car into another parked car in a parking lot. She was transported to Lake County Jail. No court information was available.

No Valid Driver's License

Juan Rodriguez, 31, of North Chicago, was charged with no valid driver's license at 5:10 p.m. Feb. 26 near the intersection of Warrington Drive and Green Bay Road. The officer initially pulled Rodriguez over for failure to use a traffic signal. He was released pending an April 3 court date in Park City.
