Blotter: Facebook Comment Results in Disorderly Conduct Charge for Teen

Theft

A snowplow blade was reported stolen in the 50 block of Sherwood Terrace at 9:36 a.m. Nov. 14. The blade was attached to a white pickup truck parked in the rear of the parking lot. The word "Boss" was written on the front of the plow. The value of the blade is $4,000. The case is still under investigation.

Two snowplow blades were reported stolen at Lake Bluff Elementary School at 7:20 a.m. Nov. 14. The blades were stolen some time over the weekend (Nov. 12-13). No value given to the blades at this time. The case is still under investigation.

Suspicious Phone Call

A woman in the 500 block of Lakeland Drive reported receiving a phone call at 5:28 p.m. Nov. 17 from someone claiming to be from Federal Express. They asked to deliver a package from another family member. The woman had just talked to the family member and no mention of a package was made, so she asked the caller for a tracking number. When none was given, the woman hung up.

Disorderly Conduct

A 17-year-old Lake Bluff teen was charged with disorderly conduct for a posting about an 18 year old made on Facebook at 10:33 p.m. Nov. 15 in the 100 block of Sunset Place. The message on Facebook appeared at 8:30 p.m. Nov. 15 and contained expletives written and other derogatory comments about the 18 year old. The 17-year-old will appear in court Dec. 6 in Park City.

 

LAKE FOREST

Criminal Damage

The rear window of a Toyota Land Cruiser was reported broken out between 10 p.m. Nov. 19 and 7:30 a.m. Nov. 20 in the 1500 block White Oak Road. No signs were observed of any objects being thrown to cause the damage.

The rear windows of two vehicles, a Volvo and Acura, were reported broken out between 10 p.m. Nov. 19 and 8:15 a.m. Nov. 20 in the 1400 block of Lawrence Avenue. No further details were available.

A decorative light affixed to a pillar at the west entrance to a property was reported damaged between midnight Nov. 19 and 9 a.m. Nov. 20 in the 800 block of Jennifer Court. An unknown object was used to damage the decorative light.

Suspicious Person

A woman reported she was grabbed by the arm by a man while walking at 2:45 a.m. Nov. 16 near the intersection of Washington and College roads. The woman put the subject in a headlock and pulled him to the ground. The man was described as white, in his 30s, 5-foot-11 with a goatee, black hooded sweatshirt underneath a dark colored trench coat, loafer shoes.  He was possibly intoxicated

Domestic Battery

Andrew M. Vogel, 47, 529 Beverly Place, was charged with domestic battery at 7:27 p.m. Nov. 20 in the 500 block of Beverly Place. Officers responded to Beverly Place for a disturbance between the Vogel and a family member.  Vogel
made physical contact of an insulting nature with a family member by placing his shoulder into the victims left shoulder causing her to fall onto a desk. He was being held pending a Nov. 21 bond court appearance. No further information was available.
