Blotter: Counterfeit Bill Passed At Panera's; Compliance Check Nets Two Arrests

A resident found a pair of glasses that was left at the farmers market at 11:46 a.m. Sept. 2. The item was logged into the found property book.

A cell phone was brought in after being found in the area of East Center and Glen avenues at 6:46 a.m. Sept. 3. The item was logged into the found property book.

A report was filed at 8:01 p.m. Aug. 30 for a lost/missing or stolen bicycle last seen on the Village Green on Aug. 26. The bicycle was silver and a Trek brand.

A report was filed at 12:51 p.m. Sept. 3 for a lost, missing or stolen cell phone from Lake Bluff Middle School.

Lost/Missing/Stolen

An officer took a report in the 100 block of Phillips Court of two missing permanent resident cards at 12:30 p.m. Sept. 3. They were last seen 10 days ago. The approximate value is $400.

Counterfeit Money

An officer responded to Panera Bread, 305 S. Waukegan Road, for a report of a counterfeit $5 in the register at 3:56 p.m. Aug. 31. The officer met with the employee, who said the $5 bill was passed on by an elderly woman on Aug. 27 during the lunch rush. Office took the $5 for evidence and the case will be turned over to the Secret Service.

LAKE FOREST

Driving Under the Influence

Jose Miranda-Vazquez, 41, 233 North Ave., Highwood, was charged with driving under the influence, no valid driver's license and improper lane use at 12:36 a.m. Aug. 28 near Route 41 and Westleigh Road. Miranda-Vazquez was observed driving across traffic lanes, police said. He failed field sobriety tests. He refused to submit a breath sample. He was released on a $300 bond pending a Sept 27 court date in Waukegan.

Minor Consumption of Alcohol

A 17-year-old from Crown Point, Ind., was charged with minor consumption of alcohol at 12:35 a.m. Aug. 28 in the 500 block of Sheridan Road. Lake Forest College Security called for assistance with an underage drinker, a nonstudent who had consumed alcohol and ran from security. He was located and issued an administrative hearing for Sept. 14 at .

Kathryn M. Pfau, 18, 555 Sheridan Road, Lake Forest, was charged with minor consumption of alcohol at 1:11 a.m. Sept. 24 in the 500 block of Sheridan Road. An officer and ambulance responded to a call for an unconscious female, who was passed out in a dorm room. She was transported to Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital by ambulance. Pfau was assigned an administrative hearing Sept. 14 at .

A 17-year-old Lake Forest juvenile was charged with minor consumption of alcohol at 12:11 a.m. Aug. 20 in the 800 block of Mayflower Road. An officer and ambulance responded to a call for an unconscious, barely breathing female, who had been dropped at the door by unknown subjects. She was transported to Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital and treated for alcohol intoxication. She was assigned an administrative hearing Sept. 14 at .

Possession of Marijuana

David Dzidziguri, 19, 555 Sheridan Road, Lake Forest, was charged with possession of marijuana and obstructing a peace officer at 5:16 p.m. Aug. 27 near Deerpath and McKinley Road. Dzidziguri had a cigarette that contained a green, leafy substance suspected to be marijuana. Police said he attempted to destroy the evidence. He was released on a $120 bond pending an Oct. 4 court date in Park City.

Mark J. Wilcoxen, 38, 1918 S. Springfield, Chicago, was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia at 4:16 a.m. Aug. 27 near Western and Wisconsin avenues. Wilcoxen was found passed out in the street at that intersection. He was transported to Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital due to extreme intoxication. He posted a $120 bond pending a Sept. 20 court date in Park City.

Alcoholic Beverage Where Prohibited

Clifford J. Laird, 27, 9N 605 Adobe Ridge, Elgin, and Linda L. Hartmanis, 24, 1502 W. Grove St., Arlington Heights, were charged with drinking an alcoholic beverage at Lake Forest Beach at 12:11 a.m. Aug. 26. Alcohol is prohibited at the beach. They were assigned to an administrative hearing Sept. 14 at .

Providing Alcohol To Minors

Luis Becerril, 19, 672 S. Lincoln, Waukegan, and Andrew Sibben, 37, 1958 Central Road, Glenview, were charged with providing alcohol to a minor at 6:40 and 7:40 p.m. Aug. 16 in the 500 block of Western Avenue and the 600 block of Forest Avenue, respectively. The officer made the arrests during a compliance check of the city liquor license holders. Bercerril and Sibben each sold an alcoholic beverage to a person younger than age 21. They were assigned to an administrative hearing Sept. 14 at .

Illegal Transportation of Alcohol

A 17-year-old Lake Forest juvenile was charged with driving without headlights, graduated driving violation, illegal transportation of alcohol and zero tolerance at 3:20 a.m. Aug. 28 near Route 60 and Waukegan Road. Police said the juvenile was observed driving without headlights, was operating a motor vehicle in violation of graduated driving restrictions, had consumed an alcoholic beverage and was younger than age 21. He provided a breath sample, which indicated a blood-alcohol concentration of .047.
