Blotter: Fallen Branch Tags a Lake Bluff Car; Juvenile Attempts To Steal Whiskey

LAKE BLUFF

Fallen Tree

An officer discovered a tree had fallen on a car in the 100 block of East Blodgett Avenue at 1:06 a.m. June 26. The vehicle had New York license plates, and had damage to the rear portion including the rear windshield, which was destroyed.

Soicitor Complaint

Officer responded to the 500 block of Prospect Avenue at 1:26 p.m. June 25 for a solicitor complaint. A man selling magazines for Atlantic Circulation did not have a permit to solicit. He was issues a warning.

Missing Bicycle

Resident reported a missing bicycle at 9:04 p.m. June 24. The purple/blueish colored boys Trek bicycle was taken to Mawman Park on May 19 for baseball practice and left overnight. He forgot about leaving it there for a few weeks until going by the park and noticed it was missing. There is no serial number or model number available.

Suspicious Circumstance

An officer observed a pick-up truck towing another pick-up truck at the front, west end of the Public Work Building at 4:44 p.m. June 20. The driver of the pick-up truck being towed said he attempted to exit the Public Works facility through the grass and around the fence because he got locked in. He said he took firewood because an old Public Works employee had given him permission. The officer verified that removing the wood is not permitted. The officer gave a verbal warning to the man, and also advised he may have to pay for the damage he may have caused to the grounds.

 

LAKE FOREST

Domestic Battery

Slobodan Pesovic, Jr., 24, 282 Mills Court, Lake Forest, was charged with domestic battery, violation of bail bond and resisting a peace officer June 19 in the 200 block of Mills Court. On June 19, Pesovic took a four-month-old child into the bedroom and refused to let the victim in. He pushed the victim, who is a family member. He was arrested for domestic battery and was also found wanted on a warrant out of DuPage County. He was held overnight for bond hearing the next day. On June 20, Pesovic violated a condition of his bond release by returning to the residence on Mills Court, opened the kitchen window and pulled his 19-month-old daughter out of the window and began to leave. Once police arrived, he released the child and fled on foot only to be apprehended a short time later, resulting in the additional charges.

Minor Consumption of Alcohol

Clay M. Tolmie, 18, 331 Wallace Ave., Lake Forest, was charged with minor consumption of alcohol at 3:23 a.m. June 19 near the intersection of Frost and Washington avenues. He was observed riding a bike in the street without a light. He was found to have consumed an alcoholic beverage and is under the age of 21. He will attend an administrative hearing at 9 a.m. July 13 at Lake Forest City Hall.

One Lake Forest teen and two Chicago teens were charged with minor consumption of alcohol at 1:20 a.m. June 19 in the 500 block of Sheridan Road. Brian P. O'Callaghan, 19, 995 Maplewood Drive, Lake Forest; Ricardo Castanon-Amaya, 19, 1144 S. Mayfield Ave., Chicago, and a 17-year-old juvenile were found to have consumed alcoholic beverages. O'Callaghan also had a false identification. Lake Forest College security requested assistance in removing the three teens from their campus. Each was given a trespass warning from Lake Forest College security. They were assigned to an administrative hearing at 9 a.m. July 13 at Lake Forest City Hall.

Jose Romero Jr., 19, 9741 South Avenue N., Chicago, and Arturo Solis, 19, 10416 South Avenue E., Chicago, were charged with minor consumption of alcohol at 3:40 a.m. June 18 in the 500 block of Sheridan Road. Lake Forest College security located the two teens on campus and both were found to have consumed an alcoholic beverage and were under the age of 21. They will attend an administrative hearing at 9 a.m. July 13 at Lake Forest City Hall.

Criminal Trespass to Land

A 16-year-old juvenile from Highwood, Ill., was charged with criminal trespass to land at 1:01p.m. June 16 in the 700 block of Westleigh Avenue. A security guard reported juveniles were observed near a broken window of the old Barat College Building. The property is fenced and has no trespassing signs posted. He was released on a $120 personal recognizance bond pending a July 5 court date in Park City.

Theft

A victim reported the theft of two rings at 3 p.m. June 20 in the 200 block of Market Square in Lake Forest. The rings are valued at approximately $400.

A 15-year-old male juvenile from Lake Forest was charged with theft at 7:30 p.m. June 18 in the 800 block of Western Avenue. The teen took a 750 ml bottle of whiskey and attempted to leave the store where he was stopped by an employee. He was released on a $120 bond pending a July 5 court date in Park City.

Curfew

A 14-year-old female from Lake Forest was charged with curfew violation at 1:13 a.m. June 19 in the 500 block of Sheridan Road. Lake Forest College security called for an unwanted person on the South Campus. She was released to her parents. She will attend an administrative hearing at 9 a.m. July 13 at Lake Forest City Hall.

Criminal Trespass to Land/Illegal Control of Marijuana

Katherine Meisner, 19, 37 Clay Ave., Highwood; Nicholas B. Hayton, 18, 6140 Knox, Chicago, and Shannon Robertson, 21, 7600 N. Bosworth, Chicago, were charged with criminal trespass to land at 1:04 p.m. June 16 in the 700 block of Westleigh Avenue. They were found on the old Barat College property, which is fenced and has no trespassing signs posted. Meisner was also found to be in possession of a green, leafy plant-like substance containing marijuana. Each were released on a $120 bond pending a July 5 court date in Park City.

Battery

A 17-year-old juvenile from Lake Bluff was charged with battery at 3:26 p.m. June 18 in the 900 block of Everett Road. The teen threw a beverage out of a moving vehicle and struck the victim in the face. He was released on a $120 bond pending an Aug. 2 court date in Park City.

New: June 29

Theft

A Lake Forest woman reported her purse stolen from her shopping cart at Dominicks, 201 S. Waukegan Road, Lake Bluff, at 5:29 p.m. June 25. The woman left her purse in the shopping cart and didn't realize it until she had driven away and gone to a nearby Walgreens. By the time she returned to the store, the purse was gone and the store did not have anyone turn it in. The purse is a Donney & Burke with a Vera Bradley wallet, each valued at $300. The wallet contained credit cards, gift cards, driver's license and $300 in cash.

Warrant Arrest

Michelle Leopold, 38, of Elmwood Park, was arrested on an outstanding warrant for failure to appear in court in DuPage County. Leopold was a passenger in a vehicle that was pulled over for a traffic stop at 7:19 p.m. June 23 on northbound Route 41 by the Full Moon Restaurant, 855 Skokie Valley Highway. The driver, Dennis Ohlinger, 35, of Chicago, was cited for no valid vehicle registration. Leopold posted the required $500 on her $5,000 bond pending a July 27 court date in Addison.

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Tyler Bork, 18, 15180 Oak Springs Drive, Libertyville, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia at 9:43 a.m. June 22 near the intersection of West Scranton and Lincoln avenues. Bork was observed smoking from a marijuana pipe by the officer, and produced the pipe which contained a burnt leafy substance after being stopped. He was released on a personal recognizance bond pending a July 19 court date in Waukegan.
