Blotter: Guitarist Just Acting Out a Skit on 176 Overpass; Three Juveniles Charged with Possession of Marijuana

LAKE BLUFF

Ding Dong Ditchers

Officer responded to a report of ding dong ditchers (kids who ring the door bell and flee) in the 300 block of Moffett Road on April 22. Officer checked the area and was unable to locate the subjects.

Solicitor Complaint

Officer responded to the 300 block of North Avenue for solicitors hanging flyers on the door April 22. Officer located two solicitors in the 200 block of East Washington Avenue. The flyers were for Westfield Malls. Solicitors advised they would have to stop until they obtain a permit.

Suspicious Circumstance

Officer observed a vehicle traveling slowly with hazard lights on eastbound on West Scranton Avenue at Mawman Road on April 20. Officer observed the male subject exit the vehicle and cross the street. Officer spoke to the driver and the male subject, who stated they were mother and son having a verbal disagreement only. Officer suggested the male subject walk the rest of the way home, and the mother drive.

Suspicious Person

An officer was advised of a suspicious person running westbound on East Center Avenue dressed in black. The subject was observed to be a jogger.

Found Bicycle

An officer responded to the 400 block of Sylvan Road for a report of a found bike. The bike is described as a small girls "Next," Slumber party, pink/purple. The bike is locked up in the bike room at the police station.

Suspicious Circumstance

Officer responded to the area of Route 176 overpass for a report of a female subject who looked as if she was going to jump off the bridge at 3:07 p.m. April 19. Upon arrival, the subject stated she was acting out a skit and playing her guitar. She said she was not suicidal. She also noted she was on the steps of the bridge, not the edge. Officer observed a bottle of open wine in the area and disposed of it. She said the wine did not belong to her. She agreed to walk back to Sunset Motel where she is staying.

Animal Complaint

An officer responded to the 500 block of Mawman Avenue for a report of a brown Pit Bull sitting on the doorstep growling on April 17. Officers located the dog and were unsuccessful in trying to retrieve the dog. Dispatch checked the lost animal book and located an entry for a lost American Bulldog and Portuguese Water Dog out of Lake Forest. The Pit Bull resembled the American Bulldog. The owners of the American Bulldog were contacted and responded to the scene. The American Bulldog did belong to the Lake Forest owner. The same owner was taken to the Lake Buff Public Works building to verify if a dog found on the shoulder of Route 176 belonged to her, and she confirmed it did.

LAKE FOREST

DUI

Jonathon J. Gille, 28, 800 Lange St., Mundelein, was charged with driving under the influence (DUI) and improper lane usage at 11:42 p.m. April 13 at the intersection of Westleigh and Green Bay roads. Gille was observed crossing into oncoming traffic while another vehicle was approaching from the opposite direction. The driver admitted to drinking and the officer smelled a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath. He refused a breath test. Gille was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending a May 6 court date in Waukegan.

Possession of Marijuana

Three male juveniles, two aged 16 and one aged 15, were charged with possession of marijuana while two were charged with minor consumption of alcohol and one for minor possession of alcohol at 10:48 p.m. April 15 at the intersection of Basswood Road and Birch Avenue. Officers responded to a call of a suspicious vehicle driving around the area for a long period of time. Officers located and stopped the vehicle with three male juveniles inside. The officer observed a baggie being thrown from the vehicle prior to being stopped. The one juvenile charged with minor possession of alcohol possessed a 12-ounce bottle of a clear alcoholic beverage. They each posted a $120 bond pending a June 7 court date in Park City.

Minor Consumption of Alcohol

Amanda D. Greco, 19, 104 Prairie Rose Lane, Savoy, Ill., was charged with minor consumption of alcohol at 9:55 p.m. April 16 in the 500 block of Sheridan Road. An ambulance was called for the intoxicated female. She was handcuffed due to fighting, kicking, spitting and screaming. She was found to be under the age of 21 and to have consumed an alcoholic beverage. She has an administrative hearing set for 9 a.m. May 11 at Lake Forest City Hall.
