Blotter: Humming Noise was Razor Inside a Backpack

Driving Under the Influence (DUI)

Abimel Solano, 19, 833 Laurel Ave., Highland Park, was charged with driving under the influence, improper lane usage, no valid driver's license and illegal transportation of alcohol at 4:31 a.m. May 20 near the intersection of Sheridan and Old Elm roads. Solano was stopped for improper lane usage after crossing lane markings several times, and striking the curb on several occasions. Open alcohol was seen inside the car when the driver was initially questioned. The driver then was given a field sobriety tests and failed. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Lake Forest Police Department. Solano was unable to complete the Intoxilyzer breath test. He posted a $300 bond pending a June 12 court date in Waukegan.

LAKE BLUFF

Found Article

A metal scooter was found in the roadway/sidewalk in the 500 block of Ravine Avenue at 2:10 a.m. June 2. The item was taken to the Public Safety Building and logged into the found property book.

A child’s stroller was found in the area of East Center and East Scranton avenues at 3:33 a.m. June 2. The item was taken to the Public Safety Building and logged into the found property book.

A red, white and blue child's bicycle helmet was found in the Village Green area at 8:57 p.m. June 1. The item was taken to the Public Safety Building and logged into the found property book.

Stray Dog

A stray brown, scruffy female dog was found running at large at 3:38 p.m. May 29 in the 300 block of Foss Court. The dog had on a blue collar with no identification. The dog was taken to Knollwood Animal Hospital.

Strange Sound

A homeowner called the after hearing a loud humming from an unknown source in the foyer of the residence at 4:05 pm. May 29 in the 20 block of Warrington Drive. The fire department determined the sound was coming from a battery-operated razor located in the homeowner's backpack.
