Blotter: Lake Bluff Resident Target Of Feces Prank; Text Messaging and Driving Don't Mix;

LAKE FOREST

Drug Possession

Roberto J. Medina, 23, 3236 N. Enoch Ave., Zion, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and having a suspended license at 9:06 p.m. Aug. 7 near Old Elm and Valley roads. Medina initially was pulled over for an expired registration. He was held for bond court. The judge issued a $50,000 recognizance bond pending a Sept. 1 court date in Waukegan.

Driving Under the Influence

Brady S. Hooker, 34, 395 E. Woodland Road, Lake Forest, was charged with driving under the influence at 1:36 a.m. Aug. 7 near Green Bay and Onwentsia roads. Police said Hooker was stopped for making a wide turn and for stopping in the middle of the intersection for no reason. He was released on a recognizance bond pending an Aug. 23 court date in Waukegan.

Endangering the Life of a Child, DUI, Text Messaging While Driving

Katie N. Granroth, 26, 375 Russet Lane, Highland Park, was charged with DUI, endangering the life of a child, and text messaging while driving at 9:12 p.m. Aug. 3 in the 1700 block of South Telegraph Road. Police said Granroth was texting while driving north on Telegraph Road and over the posted speed limit. She veered off the road, lost control of the car, struck a mailbox and overturned the vehicle. She posted a $100 bond and surrendered her driver's license pending a Sept. 13 court date in Waukegan.

LAKE BLUFF

Solicitor Complaint

Officer responded to the 300 block of East Scranton Avenue for a reported solicitor complaint at 4:33 p.m. Aug. 12. Bryan Pechter stated he was selling subscriptions for a newspaper to help Lamb's Farm. He said he did not have a permit, which was confirmed. Officer checked in-house record and determined Pechter previously had been warned about soliciting without a permit. He was ticketed.

"No Outlet" Signage

Officer responded to the 100 block of Moffett Road and spoke with a homeowner regarding a possible village-owned street sign in her residence at 3:29 p.m. Aug. 10. The resident came by the Public Safety Building and brought in a "No Outlet" sign for Moffett Road/Cambridge Lane. The sign was turned over to Public Works. No charges have been filed at this time.

Mischief

Officer responded to the 600 block of Ravine Avenue for a report of a bag of feces that had been lit on fire on the front step of the house at 4:38 p.m. Aug. 10. The complainant noticed the bag around 4:30 p.m. and the fire had already extinguished itself. The complainant said he did not hear or see anything. He stated there have been multiple mischief cases at his residence, but did not know why or who it may be. The complainant disposed of the bag.

Found Dog

A female black Labrador with a pink floral collar, no tags was found at the Public Safety Building at 10:28 a.m. Aug. 10. The officer was unable to locate the owner and the dog was taken to Knollwood Animal Hospital.

Burglary

Best Wishes Ice Cream, 91 E. Scranton Ave., filed a delayed burglary report at 4:34 p.m. Aug. 13 after discovering $80 in cash missing from its cash register drawer on Aug. 10. Police found no forced entry, and the business was not open at the time of the burglary.
