Blotter: Man Charged With Taking Photos of Women at Beach

LAKE FOREST

Driving Under the Influence

James A. Hodge, 60, 560 Trumbull Ave., Novato, Calif., was charged with driving without headlights when required, driving under the influence and DUI greater than .08 at 12:59 a.m. June 15 near Western and Wisconsin avenues. Hodge was stopped for driving without headlights and then failed field sobriety tests, police said. He submitted to a breath test that indicated a blood-alcohol concentration of .208. He posted a $300 bond pending a July 11 court date in Waukegan.

Luis V. Sanchez, 46, 1022 14th St., North Chicago, was charged with improper lane use, driving while suspended, DUI, aggravated DUI third offense, and DUI driving privileges revoked at 1:12 a.m. near Route 41 and Gage Lane. Sanchez was stopped for his inability to drive within a traffic lane. He was found to be driving without a license. He admitted to consuming alcohol. Sanchez failed field sobriety tests and refused to submit a breath sample, authorities said. He will have his driver's license suspended for a year for the refusal. Sanchez was held for a bond hearing pending a June 19 court date in Waukegan. No further information was available.

Alexander G. Garber, 24, 104 Midway Lane, Vernon Hills, was charged with driving without headlights when required, DUI and DUI greater than .08 at 1:10 a.m. June 16 near Deerpath and Route 41. Garber was stopped for driving at night without headlights. He failed field sobriety tests and submitted a breath sample that indicated a blood-alcohol concentration level of .084. He posted his Illinois driver's license and a$1,000 personal recognizance bond pending a July 10 court date in Waukegan.

Armondo Villeas-Diaz, 50 2625 N. Kostner Ave., Chicago, was charged with DUI, improper lane use and no valid driver's license at 7:40 p.m. June 10 near Route 41 and Old Elm Road. Authorities said they stopped Villeas-Diaz for his inability to drive within a traffic lane. He was found to be driving without a license. He admitted to consuming alcohol. Villeas-Diaz failed field sobriety tests and refused to submit a breath sample. He will have his driver's license suspended for a year for the refusal. Villeas-Diaz posted a $300 bond pending a July 10 court date in Waukegan.

Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Joseph A. Gutmann, 18, 4927 Gand Ave., Des Moines, Iowa, was charged with unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia at 4:58 a.m. June 17 near Green Briar Lane and Wooded Lane. Police were called for a subject sleeping or passed out in a vehicle. Gutmann knowingly possessed a green plastic tube, an item of drug paraphernalia, with the intent to use that tube for inhaling marijuana into his body. Gutmann posted a $120 bond pending a July 9 court date in Waukegan.

Minor Consumption, Possession of Alcohol

Three teens were charged with minor consumption of alcohol and one teen was charged with minor possession of alcohol at 10 p.m. June 15 near Gold Lane and Deerpath. John Patlovich, 18, 507 Blodgett Ave., Lake Bluff, and Jason Handler, 18, 565 E. Ryan Place, Lake Forest, were each charged with minor consumption. One 17-year-old juvenile and one 16-year-old juvenile, both from Lake Forest, also were charged with minor consumption. A 17-year-old juvenile from Lake Bluff was charged with minor possession. Police responded to a noise complaint in the 500 block of Golf Lane. The teens were found to have consumed an alcoholic beverage and were under the age of 21. The three juveniles and Patlovich were assigned an administrative hearing July 11 at Handler did not qualify for an administrative hearing and posted a $120 bond pending a July 3 court date in Park City.

Solicitation Without a Permit, Obstructing Justice

Ronald Coleman, 33, 281 Wilson, Gary, Ind., and Shawn L. Wilson, 22, 102 Emberwood Drive, Richmond, Va., were each charged with solicitation without a permit at 6:31 p.m. June 16 in the 1400 block of Green Bay Road. Coleman also was charged with obstructing justice for giving a false name to police. The pair was found to be selling magazines without a permit. They each posted a $120 bond pending a July 3 court date in Park City.

Disorderly Conduct

Paul T. Thornycroft, 57, 94 Washington Circle, Lake Forest, was charged with disorderly conduct at 2:49 p.m. June 12 at the Lake Forest Beach. Thornycroft took photos of girls at the beach in such a manner as to alarm and disturb several victims. He posted a $120 bond pending a July 5 court date in Park City.

LAKE BLUFF

Possession of Marijuana, Drug Paraphernalia

A 17-year-old juvenile from Lake Forest was charged with no valid driver's license and possession of drug paraphernalia while a 16-year-old juvenile from Lake Forest was charged with possession of marijuana at 12:55 a.m. June 12 near Wimbledon Court. A third juvenile was not charged. The officer observed three individuals in a car and smelled marijuana. He found an unknown quantity in a metal grinder. The two teens charged posted personal recognizance bonds pending a July 3 court date in Park City.

Minor Consumption of Alcohol/Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

John Andersen, 19, of Lake Bluff, was charged with minor consumption of alcohol and possession of drug paraphernalia at 1:31 a.m. June 14 in the 200 block of Hickory Court. A second juvenile was not charged. The officer responded to a loud noise complaint and found two individuals. Andersen was found to have consumed alcohol illegally and upon checking his backpack, a multicolored smoking pipe with burnt residue of marijuana was found. Andersen posted a personal recognizance bond pending a July 3 court date in Waukegan.

Driving Under the Influence

Edward Fellin, 53, of Mundelein, was charged with driving under the influence and improper lane use at 8:41 p.m. June 3 near Waukegan and Rockland roads. Fellin was driving a silver sport utility vehicle and was observed driving over the center line twice, and swerving. He posted a personal recognizance bond pending a June 22 court date in Waukegan.

Hector Gomez-Vazquez, 29, of Waukegan, was charged with driving under the influence, improper lane use, illegal transportation of alcohol and no vehicle insurance at 11:30 p.m. June 2 near Green Bay and Rockland roads. Gomez-Vazquez was driving a white pickup truck and was observed crossing the double yellow lines. Upon initiating a stop, the officer observed beer cans in the front and back seat. Gomez-Vazquez posted a personal recognizance bond pending a June 22 court date in Waukegan.

Found Property

A bike was found at Mawman Park at 10:52 a.m. June 23. The bike had been at the park for two days. It was a boy’s 13-inch Trek 820 with Shimano brakes and gear shifters. The bike was blue, grey and white and had a blue-colored Nalgene sport bottle and a blue and white Trek helmet. The bike was secured in the Lake Bluff Police Department garage.
