LAKE FOREST
Driving While License Revoked

Feginald L. Sims, 46, 6630 S. Yale, Chicago, was charged with driving while license revoked and operating an uninsured vehicle at 4:42 p.m. May 10 near Route 41 and Route 22. Sims was called into police as a possible erratic driver. He was found to have a revoked driver's license for driving under the influence. Sims was sent to a bond hearing and a May 11 court date in Waukegan. No further information was available.

Rahim A. Patel, 40, 3513 Lake Ave., Wilmette, was charged with driving under the influence, DUI greater than .08, obstructing a peace officer and disobeying a red light at 10:14 a.m. May 7 near Route 41 and Route 60. Patel ran a red light and was involved in a one car off-road crash, police said. He continued eastbound from Route 60 across Route 41. He admitted to drinking alcohol. Patel provided false information to the police officer to avoid prosecution. He posted a $100 bond and his driver's license pending a May 22 court date in Waukegan.
Theft
A person posing as a copier technician made unauthorized entry into an office building in the 400 block of Field Drive and stole a box of copier toner at 8:43 a.m. May 10. No further information was available.
A Lake Forest College student left her backpack in the cafeteria at 1 p.m. May 3 and it was gone when she returned at 3:30 p.m. The backpack contained a laptop computer, and keys to her dorm room, work, home and car. No further information was available.
An officer discovered the "Yield to Pedestrians" sign missing at the crosswalk on Sheridan Road and Middle Campus of at 2:48 a.m. May 9. No further information was available.
LAKE BLUFF
Found Property
A black HTC cellphone was found in the roadway of Ravine Forest Drive and Sheridan Road at 8:17 p.m. May 18. It was logged into found property.
A piano workbook was found in the street near Oak and Scranton avenues at 1:27 p.m. May 13. The item was logged into found property.
Suspicious Person
An officer observed a vehicle with its parking lights on in the 30 block of East Sheridan Place at 2:40 a.m. May 16. The officer observed a male inside the vehicle. The man said he had a verbal altercation with his girlfriend and was waiting to speak to her. The officer advised the man to go home and speak to her in the morning. He left the area.
Stray Dog
An officer responded to the area of Sheridan Road and West Scranton Avenue for a report of a dog at large at 7:01 p.m. May 15. The officer captured the dog at East Center and Evanston avenues. The dog had a collar with a disconnected phone number on the ID tag. The dog was transported to .
Suspicious Person
An officer was contacted by the ticket agent at the Metra Station at 9:18 a.m. May 15. She stated that an unknown Metra train passenger approached her that morning, and advised her that when he arrived on the 6:50 p.m. train from Chicago on May 14, he observed a male on the west side of the train tracks. The man was taking photos of the bridges (passenger and freight line) that cross over West Scranton Avenue, and the passengers who just exited the train walking down the stairs along West Scranton Avenue from the platform. The complainant said he made eye contact with the man, who then went into the tree line between the train depot and Forest Bluff School. He described the man to be of Middle Eastern descent, 20 to 29 years old, dark curly hair, and had an expensive camera. The officer checked the area and found no irregularities. Extra patrol was placed on the area.
Found Parakeet
A parakeet was dropped off at the Public Safety Building at 11:26 a.m. May 13 after it had been found at the Lake Bluff Beach. The complainant said if no one claimed the bird, she would like to be contacted to claim the bird. She was informed that the bird could not be taken to , and she could take the bird with her. She was informed that if the owner did call her, information would be given out and she would have to surrender the bird.
