Blotter: Man Tries To Double-Charge Resident For Work On Home; Employees Chase Down Suspect

LAKE FOREST

Lukasz Mianowany, 28, 3020 Boyle Terrace, Apt. 1, River Grove, Ill., was charged with two counts of forgery in the at 9:07 a.m. May 27 in the 100 block of Shawford Way. Mianowany was performing tile work for the victim and created an invoice in the amount of $570.83 in the name of another company. He was held on a $5,000 bond and appeared in court May 27 in Waukegan. No further information was available.

Margaret J. Hennessy, 19, 2306 Foxhall Drive, Augusta, Ga., and Brent J. Dulude, 19, 4245 137th Ave., Bellevue, Wash., were charged with minor consumption of alcohol at 12:07 a.m. May 27 near the intersection of Westleigh and Sheridan roads. Hennessy and Dulude were passengers in a vehicle stopped for speeding. Each was found to be under 21 years of age and had consumed an alcoholic beverage. Both were assigned to an administrative hearing at 9 a.m. July 13 at Lake Forest City Hall.

Driving While License Suspended

Steven R. Chuck, 22, 530 Everett Road, Lake Forest, was charged with driving while license suspended and obstructing a peace officer at 8:23 a.m. May 23 in the 600 block of Everett Road. Chuck attempted to switch from the driver to the passenger seat in a vehicle to avoid prosecution for driving while license suspended. He was given a notice to appear in court at 9 a.m. June 21 in Park City.

Possession of Alcohol in a Public Place

Jordan T. Euson, 21, 1000 S. Green Bay Road, Lake Forest, was charged with possession of alcohol in a public place at 11:40 p.m. May 21 at Forest Park Beach. He was assigned to an administrative hearing at 9 a.m. June 8 at Lake Forest City Hall.

Burglary, Identity Theft

Cedric D. Brown, 38, 3016 W. Grand, Waukegan, was charged with burglary, identity theft, escape and obstructing justice at 7:45 a.m. May 31 in the 400 block of Field Drive. Brown used the credit card of another person to fraudulently obtains goods and services. He later entered the building of a business in the 400 block of Field Drive with the intent to commit a theft. Employees of the business chased and apprehended the subject until police arrived. Brown was taken to Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital where he was treated and released for minor injuries allegedly sustained in the apprehension. Once released from the hospital, he attempted to escape custody from the transporting officer. He also knowingly provided a false name of Tyrone Giles during the booking process. Brown was also wanted on a warrant for parole violation. He was remanded to bond court and appeared in court May 31 in Waukegan. No further information was available.

Minor Possession of Alcohol

Hannah L. Chody, 18, 575 E. Westminister Ave., Lake Forest, was charged with minor possession of alcohol at 10:42 p.m. May 30 in the 900 block of Lake Road. Police were called to the scene with the report of an underage drinking party. Officers met with the homeowner, who stated his son had a few college friends over and they were down on the beach. The homeowner authorized access to the private beach to check for alcohol violations. Approximately 15 minors fled the area of a fire and beer cans. The subject was apprehended and found to be carrying an open half-full bottle of Smirnoff Raspberry vodka. Chody was assigned to an administrative hearing at 9 a.m. July 13 at Lake Forest City Hall.

Driving Under the Influence (DUI)

Jesus Castro, 2126 Kristan Ave., North Chicago, was charged with speeding, operating an uninsured vehicle, illegal transportation of alcohol, driving under the influence and no valid driver's license at 6:31 p.m. May 30 near the intersection of Westleigh Road and Red Fox Lane. Castro was stopped for traveling 64 mph in a 35 mph speed zone. He was believed to have consumed an alcoholic beverage, failed the field sobriety test and refused to provide a breath test. He posted a $300 bond pending a June 14 court date in Waukegan.

Andreina Cruz, 18, 3014 Sunset Road, Apt. 304, Waukegan, was charged with driving under the influence, DUI over .08, no valid driver's license and improper lane usage at 4:28 a.m. May 28 near the intersection of Route 41 and Gage Lane. Cruz exhibited difficulty driving within a single traffic lane. She failed a field sobriety test, and a breath test resulted in a blood alcohol concentration of .111. She posted a $300 bond pending a June 28 court date in Waukegan.

Criminal Trespass to Residence

Matthew M. Burke, 22, 1760 Wimbledon Court, Lake Forest, was charged with criminal trespass to residence, a Class 4 felony, at 12:00 a.m. May 31 in the 1300 block of Western Avenue. Burke entered an occupied apartment after climbing onto a first floor balcony, and proceeding through a sliding glass door and sliding screen door. Burke was yelling at the caretaker to let him in. He was observed by a care giver, who had never seen Burke before and called 911. Burke chased the care giver out of the apartment, into the hallway and back outside where he fell unconscious on the sidewalk where he was found when police arrived. Burke was transported to Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital for abrasions and intoxication, treated and released. He was set to attend a bond hearing and a May 31 court date in Waukegan. No further information was available.

Solicitation Without a Permit

Joe Anderson Miles, 51 420 Courtland St., NE, Atlanta, Ga., was charged with solicitation without a permit at 6:42 p.m. May 27 near the intersection of Kimberly Lane and Ridge Road. Miles was selling cleaning solutions for Magnificent Cleaning Solutions in Michigan City, Ind., to several residents with the city of Lake Forest without a valid permit. He posted a $120 bond pending a July 5 court date in Park City.

LAKE BLUFF

Theft

A woman reported the theft of her red wallet on June 3, possibly from the 800 block of Skokie Highway or from her business in Northfield. The wallet contained two credit cards, driver's license but no cash.

No Valid Driver's License

Jose S. Perez-Guzman, 25, of North Chicago, was charged with speeding and driving without a valid license May 31 near the intersection of Alden Lane and Green Bay Road. Perez-Guzman was pulled over for traveling 40 mph in a 30 mph speed zone. He was found to have no valid driver's license. He was released on a personal recognizance bond pending a July 5 court date in Waukegan.

Theft

A theft of a wildlife trapping box was reported May 30. The box was believed to be taken between May 16-19 from ABC Humane Wildlife in the 700 block of Rockland Road. The trapping box was taken from a second floor balcony. The reported value was $50.

Carbon Monoxide Detector

A resident in the 600 block of Bluff Road had a carbon monoxide detector activate in conjunction with the home's burglar alarm at 9:30 a.m. June 4. The Lake Bluff Fire Department responded and the detector was determined to be faulty. An additional call was made at 11:50 a.m. June 4 in the 700 block of Birch Road for an activated CO detector. It was also determined to be faulty.

Theft

A resident in the 300 block of East Blodgett Avenue reported the theft of copper downspouts at 10:03 a.m. June 4.  The theft took place between June 2-4. No monetary value was reported.

Lost/Missing/Stolen

A juvenile reported a missing check June 3 and believes it was lost in the creek at Artesian Park. The check was from the Lake Bluff Baseball Association in the amount of $45. The check number is 1730.

Gas Can

Lake Bluff Police assisted Lake Forest police with an individual, who was seen hiding a can of gas in the bushes near the intersection of Deerpath Road and Route 41 on June 3. The individual said he and his friends wanted to start a fire at the Lake Bluff Beach and they had taken a can of gas from a house that has been under construction for a long time at the north end of Sunrise Road in Lake Bluff. He noted both shelters were in use at the beach and the can of gas was not needed. He did not want to throw the can of gas in a garbage can in case someone threw a cigarette in the garbage. Officers returned the gas can to a house in the 700 block of Mountain Road.

Suspicious Circumstances

Officers responded to te area of Sheridan Road and East Blodgett Avenue on May 31 for a report of a man laying down in the roadway. Officers located the subject sitting on the grass near the intersection. He said he was out for a long walk and got lost. The man requested a ride to the By The Way Motel.

Recovered Cell Phone

A person brought a brown bag and stated he found the bag on a bench in Artesian Park. on May 29 The officer answered the cell phone inside the bag, and the owner of the bag said they would come by the police station to recover the bag.
