Bus Ride Home Makes Unexpected Stop

No injuries, but Lake Bluff Elementary School bus driver ticketed.

 

A Lake Bluff Elementary School bus with 15 children aboard made an unexpected stop at 3 p.m. April 19 near the intersection of Glen and East Scranton avenues in Lake Bluff.

The bus was struck on its rear side by a pickup truck as it was heading north bound on Glen Avenue. The pickup truck was heading west on East Scranton Avenue. No injuries occured to occupants of either vehicle, according to Lake Bluff Police.

According to Lake Bluff Police, the bus driver failed to yield the right-of-way to the pickup truck, and was ticketed by police.

Lake Bluff Elementary School Principal Shelley Overman drove to the accident location and made arrangements for all of the children to be released to their parents of guardians, according to the police report.
