Charges Dropped Against Ex-Cop Who Brought Gun to PGA Event

The Indiana man was arrested for bringing a loaded gun to the BMW Championship in Lake Forest last fall.

The Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office dropped felony gun charges against a former Indiana police officer who was arrested in September for bringing a gun to the BMW Championship PGA tournament in Lake Forest, the Lake County News-Sun reports.

Mark T. Fedder, then 48, was arrested when he tried to enter Conway Farms Golf Course. He was carrying a loaded weapon and authorities found two more firearms in his car.

On Tuesday, charges against him were dropped after prosecutors learned that he had a federal permit to carry a gun in places where simply having a concealed carry permit would not be enough, the News-Sun article says.
