Child Molestation Charges Added Against Unincorporated Lake Bluff Man

Had relationship with 16-year-old Palatine youth.

Child molestation charges have been added against a Lake County man who resides in unincorporated Lake Bluff.

Ian O'Donohue, 39, who lives in the 29000 block of North Waukegan Road in unincorporated Lake Bluff, has already been indicted by a grand jury on five counts of child pornography, according to Mary Stanton, Lake County assistant state's attorney.

An indictment for criminal sexual abuse was added after the Lake County state's attorney's office showed a link between O'Donohue and a 16-year-old boy from Palatine.

Stanton said in the course of the investigation, O'Donohue indicted that he had been having a sexual relationship with the teen for a year. They met and corresponded on the Craigslist website.

O'Donohue, who is free on a $75,000 bond, will have an arraignment hearing on all charges at 9 a.m. Feb. 23 at Lake County Court in Waukegan. Stanton said the O'Donohue could face up to seven years in prison or probation if convicted of either charge against him.

He was originally arrested by North Chicago police on Jan. 8 as part of Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan’s crackdown on the most active traffickers who download and trade child pornography on the Internet. O'Donohue was the 17th suspect caught.
