Concealed Gun Was Loaded at BMW Championship

The Lake County State's Attorney's Office is still considering pressing felony weapons charges against a man who tried to bring a firearm into Lake Forest's Conway Farms, the Chicago Tribune reports.

The man arrested Monday at Lake Forest’s BMW Championship was carrying a loaded pistol with a bullet in its chamber, the Chicago Tribune reported Sept. 18.

Mark T. Fedder 48, of Westmont, was arrested after Lake Forest police said he tried to enter the Conway Farms Golf Club with a concealed gun. Authorities also found two more firearms in his vehicle, police have said.

Fedder was charged with obstruction of justice, but the Lake County State’s Attorney’s office is considering felony charges. In a separate article, the Chicago Tribune reported that prosecutors are taking into consideration the Illinois Supreme Court’s recent ruling that determined that some licensed gun owners might not be charged if they are caught carrying their weapon.
