Dead Woman Identified by County Coroner

Body found by hiker in forest area near Lake Bluff's Stonebridge property.

 

A woman's body discovered Sunday afternoon at Oriole Grove Forest Preserve in Lake Bluff has been identified, according to the Lake County Coroner's office on Monday.

Susan Halle-Renken, 53, of Lake Bluff, was found by a hiker at 3 p.m. Sunday. The cause of death remains unknown, according to the coroner's office. Results of toxicology and other tests will be available within the next two weeks.

The hiker found the body fully clothed and lying on a blanket in a forested area a mile south of Route 176 and just west of Green Bay Road near the Stonebridge property, according to Lake County Forest Preserve Rangers.

According to Gazebo News, the man who found the woman's body did not have a cell phone and drove to the Lake Bluff Police Station to tell police.
