Possible telephone scam

A complainant reported receiving a telephone call from someone claiming to be an investigator. The caller said he wanted to coordinate serving a summons to an employee. The complainant confirmed that the employee worked there but said they wanted to talk to the company’s lawyer before giving any more information. The caller then became agitated and hung up. In two subsequent call backs, the caller said a different employee name.

Officers responded to Landsdowne Lane at 9 p.m. July 1 for a dog that had run into a house and fallen into the sub-basement full of water. The officers safely got the dog and returned it to its owner.

Officers stopped a vehicle on Sheridan Road at the Lake Bluff Train Depot at 9 p.m. July 2. The driver was arrested for speeding, driving with a suspended license and failure to secure a child under 8 years old with an appropriate child restraint.

An officer conducted a traffic stop on Green Bay Road north of Armour Drive at 1 a.m. July 3. The driver was arrested for “zero tolerance,” meaning being under 21 and driving after drinking alcohol, and the passenger was arrested for unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor.

DUI

An officer conducted a traffic stop on Route 43 at North Shore Drive at 2:30 a.m. July 4 for improper lane usage. The driver was arrested for DUI.

Pre-parade noise complaint

An officer responded to the Park District just before 7 a.m. July 4 for a noise complaint. The officer spoke with several people who were preparing for the parade and advised them to turn down their music, which they did.

DUI

An officer conducted a traffic stop at Routes 41 and 137 at 11:30 a.m. July 5 for improper lane usage. The driver was arrested for DUI.
