Driver Charged with DUI Had Syringe in Car, Police Say

An 8th grade graduation party also led to a noise complaint in the latest Lake Bluff blotter.

Loose manhole

A manhole cover came loose and was in the road on Waukegan at 6 a.m. June 2. Officers re-secured the cover.

DUI

Police received a call about a possible intoxicate driver at routes 176 and 43 at 11:30 a.m. June 2. The officer found the driver, who was arrested for DUI, unlawful possession of a hypodermic syringe and attempted unlawful possession of a controlled substance. The driver was released on $3,000 bond with a July 11 court date.

Hit and run

An officer responded to the 300 block of South Waukegan Road for the report of a hit and run at 1 p.m. June 3. The complainant said the offending vehicle was a silver SUV.

Copper theft

Someone stole a copper down spout overnight June 3 on Arbor Drive.

Noise complaint leads to alcohol arrest

Officers responded to the 400 block of Pine Court at midnight June 5 for a loud noise complaint. One person was taken into custody for possession of alcohol by a minor.

Fire alarm at middle school

The fire alarm at Lake Bluff Middle School went off at 5:15 p.m. June 5. It was determined that steam from the boys locker room set off the alarm.

Driving with a suspended license

A driver was arrested at 8 p.m. June 5 in the 600 block of West Washington Avenue for driving with a suspended license.

Graduation party prompts noise complaint

An eighth grade graduation party in the 300 block of West Washington Avenue prompted a call to police at 9 p.m. June 5 about loud music. The host told police he would turn the music down.

DUI

An officer conducted a traffic stop at 6:30 p.m. on June 6 on Route 41 and arrested the driver for DUI.

Hit and run

Police responded to the Sheridan Cutoff for a hit-and-run accident involving two vehicles with property damage but no injuries. The offending vehicle was described as a small, grey car that continued south on Sheridan Road. Police were unable to locate it.

Surprise party prompts nose complaint

Officers responded to the area of Pine Court and West Center Avenue for a noise complaint at 10 p.m. June 6. The homeowners told police they were having a surprise party for their daughter and would turn off the music.

DUI

An officer conducted a traffic stop on Route 41 and Knauz at 11:45 p.m. June 7 and arrested the driver for DUI.
