Fire Destroys Lake Forest Mansion

No one was injured in the early morning blaze just after midnight Monday. The cause has not yet been determined.

A Lake Forest mansion was badly damaged in a large fire early Monday morning, according to NBC5.

No one was injured in the blaze that swept through the 6,000-square-foot home, NBC5 reports. It was called in a couple minutes past midnight at the home in the 1000 block of Keswick Lane, according to ChicagoFireMap.

The Chicago Sun-Times has video from the scene, where the red brick home can be seen ablaze and missing its roof.

Lake Forest Fire Department Battalion Chief Mike Gallo told the Sun-Times that, “the roof was on the verge of collapse,” when crews arrived.

The cause of the blaze has not yet been determined, Gallo said.
