Four Teens Cited for Vandalizing Lake Forest Home

The following arrest information was supplied by the Lake Forest Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Driving under the influence

An officer stopped Michael R. Moccia, 45, of Lake Forest, for driving without headlights or taillights after midnight. Moccia told the officer he had had more to drink than he should. He exhibited a strong odor of alcohol and failed three field sobriety tests. He wastaken into custody, processed and later released on bond with a July court date. Because Moccia refused to complete all chemical tests required his driving privileges will be suspended for a minimum of 12 months.

Criminal damage to property

On the morning of 6/23/13, officers responded to a home in the 600 block of Broadsmoore for a report of vandalism to the resident’s home and cars. An interview with a witness led to the identification of four teens who may have been involved. Interviews with all fourteens were conducted. All four admitted to being out after curfew and at the victim’s house andwere cited for violating curfew. Two teens, a 15 year old from Lake Forest and a 15 year old from Lake Bluff, were also implicated in damaging the victim’s house and car and were cited for criminal damage to property. All fourteens have an August administrative hearing date.

Leaving the scene of an accident

Police responded to a report a car had crashed into a tree in a homeowner’s front yard on Sheridan Road. The homeowner told officers he had spoken to the driver, identified as Jason S. Flam, 20, of Riverside, who fled on foot when he learned the homeowner had called police. Cannabis, a metalsmoking pipe and Busch beer were found in the car. On 6/25/13 Flam turned himself in to Police and was cited for leaving the scene of an accident, possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of alcohol by a minor.
