Home Being Renovated Catches Fire in Lake Forest

The fire was contained to the roof and ceiling areas.

A Lake Forest home being renovated caught fire Tuesday evening, but was extinguished quickly.

When the fire department arrived at the home in the 700 block of Illinois Road at 6 p.m., smoke was visible in the back of the building along the first floor roof, according to the Lake Forest Fire Department. There was fire inside on the first floor, as well.

The fire was contained to the roof and ceiling area and was extinguished in about 40 minutes. The cause is under investigation.
