Homeless Man Warned Not to Trespass

ANIMALS

A resident reported at 11:31 a.m. Aug. 29 that a dog had been barking on the 300 block of E. Scranton Ave since early that morning. Officers went to the home and were unable to contact anyone inside. A warning notice was left on the door.

A resident of the 600 block of Lincoln Avenue called to report active beehives at 8:21 a.m. Aug. 28 on the property line on West Washington Ave. An officer put up barrier tape. The homeowner told police they were working to get a service out that day.

An officer found a possibly sick skunk near the back of the police station at 12:54 p.m. Aug. 25. Lake County Animal Control removed it.

A resident bought a mal English golden retriever to the police station that she had found at 9:34 a.m. Aug. 24 at Moffett Road and Sheridan Road. An officer took the dog to Knollwood Animal Hospital.

FOUND PROPERTY

A silver Kona Luna mountain bike was found at 6:52 a.m. Aug. 21 in Artesian Park. The bike was taken to the police station. 

PROPERTY DAMAGE

While on patrol at 8:35 p.m. Aug. 28, an officer found two mailboxes on the 29000 block of Environ Circle on the ground and off their wooden posts. The officer was unable to reach the homeowners.

SUSPICIOUS PERSON

Officers responded at 8:25 p.m. Aug. 23 to a report of a suspicious person who appeared to be hiding in the tree line near the Sheridan Road bike path and Arbor Court. Officers did not locate the person.

OTHER INCIDENTS

An officer located a person at 6:34 p.m. Aug. 20 in the back parking lot of a building on the 900 block of Carriage Lane. The person told police that he was homeless and had been living in that location. The property owner told police she would like the man to leave the property. The man was given a trespassing warning and told police he would gather his belongings and not return to the property.

Officers responded to the Lake Bluff Library Aug. 29 for a report of a bicycle that had been locked to the library’s bike rack for several weeks. Officers spoke with the library director who asked that the bike be left there, as it was not causing a nuisance.

Officers responded at 10:33 a.m. Aug. 29 to the bike path south of the train depot for a report of a person who fell off a bicycle. Lake Bluff and Lake Forest Fire Departments responded. The bicyclist was transported to Lake Forest Hospital. Police secured the bike.

Officers responded at 5:08 a.m. Aug. 29 to a residence on the 80 block of Warrington for a resident who fell and lost consciousness. When police arrived, the person was conscious and talking, laying down in the front walkway, intoxicated. The person was taken to Lake Forest Hospital.

The owner of a business on the 200 block of South Waukegan Road reported Aug. 24 that someone entered the business through the rear door and hung up signs throughout the building saying that the business was moving to a new location. There were no other irregularities reported.
