Jeep Full of Rowdy Teens Prompts Call to Police

Officers were also called to an apartment where a woman was trying to get a watch and candle she left there three months earlier when she moved out.

Suspicious circumstances

Officers observed an occupied vehicle in the Carriage Way Shopping Center April 13 at 2 p.m. Police spoke with the person in the car, who said he was there to wash the windows at a business.

Officers responding to Route 176 at Carriage Way Shopping Center at 1 p.m. April 13 for a report of an unoccupied car with the hazards on. Officers talked to the occupants, who said that they had momentarily parked to get into the trunk when the key broke off and was stuck in the truck. The officer waited until a locksmith arrived.

DUI

Police got a report of a white Lexus that was “all over the road” April 15 at 12:30 a.m. Officers found the vehicle and arrested the driver for DUI.

Rowdy teens

An officer responded to a report of a blue Jeep Wrangler driving erratically with teenagers standing up and yelling at passersby at East Sheridan Place and Sheridan Road at 11:30 a.m. April 17. The officer was unable to locate the vehicle. Lake Forest police found an unoccupied vehicle matching the description in the parking lot of Lake Forest High School. The complainant did not wish to sign a complaint.

Loud teens

Officers responded to Mawman Park at 9:45 p.m. April 17 for a report of a group of teens being loud. Officers met with the teens, who said they were playing capture the flag and were unsure if the park was closed after dark. They were told the park hours and left on their own.

DUI

Officers conducted a traffic stop at Route 176 at Public works for a vehicle without a tail light. The driver was arrested for DUI.

Dispute over watch and candle

Officers responded to the 0-100 block of East North Avenue at 6 p.m. April 18  for a report of a woman outside an apartment. She told police she was trying to retrieve a watch and candle that she left in the apartment before moving out three months ago. The officer talked with the woman in the apartment, who said the woman outside had been sending her harassing messages and she did not want her inside, and she said she did not have the watch or candle. The officer told the woman outside that if she wants to pursue the matter, she should do so in court. The officer also advised the woman inside how to get an order of protection.

DUI

An officer conducted a traffic stop at Route 176 and Thorntree Lane April 19 at 2:30 a.m. for disobeying a no turn on red sign. The driver was arrested for DUI.

911 hang up

Officers responded to the 400 block of Mawman Avenue for a 911 hang up at 7:45 p.m. April 19. The homeowner said her 8-year-old son had accidentally called 911.
