Lake Bluff Holds Public Safety Open House August 18

Watch helicopters land in the park.

Did you ever wonder about all the things the and do for the Village of Lake Bluff?

Village residents and others will get a chance to see firsthand some of the things which are done as well as getting some hands on fun with activities like sliding down a fire pole at the annual Public Safety Open House from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. August 18 at the Public Safety Building.

Activities will include watching members of the Fire Department perform demonstrations of automobile extrications and live fire exercises while a Flight for Life helicopter lands at Artesian Park. The crew will answer questions and give tours.

Other activities include a children’s obstacle course, a fire pole, and finger printing booth.

Food and refreshments will be provided by the Metropolitan Emergency Support Service (MESS) Canteen, a volunteer run organization that provides support to emergency personnel on incident scenes.
