Update: Lake Bluff Police Charge Suspect in Home Burglary, Continue Search for Two Others

Police find items taken from house in stolen getaway truck.

Lake Bluff Police have charged one suspect in a residential burglary Thursday evening (April 7) while two others remain at large.

Lamonte D. Coleman, Jr., 23, 30827 Wilson Road, Beach Park, has been charged with one count of residential burglary and was remanded to the Lake County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bond. His next hearing is May 2, according to a release from David Belmonte, deputy chief of police for the Lake Bluff Police Department.

The at-large suspects are believed to be two male blacks, 18-23 years of age. One may be wearing a Chicago Bears hat, and one wearing a black jacket. Both may be wearing blue jeans with maroon embroidery.

At 5:04 p.m. Thursday, Lake Bluff Police were advised of a group of individuals on the front porch of a house in the 300 block of East North Avenue, according to a press release sent by Lake Bluff Police.

An officer responded to the area and upon arrival observed a green 1996 GMC pick-up truck leaving the area. Once the occupants of the pick-up observed the officer, the occupants stopped the vehicle on East Scranton Avenue near Glen Avenue, and fled. The officer was able to immediately apprehend one of the occupants. Two additional occupants continued to flee north on foot, according to the release.

A search of the area was conducted by officers from  Lake Bluff, Lake Forest, and Highland Park Police, as well as a Lake County Canine Unit and detectives.  

Further investigation revealed the home on East North Avenue was burglarized.  Various electronics and other personal items were taken. Officers reported finding the items that were taken inside the pick-up truck. In addition, it was discovered the pick-up truck was stolen from the 1700 block of Monroe Street in Waukegan on April 1, according to the release.
