Lake Bluff Police Blotter: Fire Averted, Man Charged With DUI

Jesus Nunez, 26, of Chicago was arrested Sept. 8 Saturday for driving under the influence and driving without insurance, according to Lake Bluff police reports.
According to the report, Nunez was driving northbound on Highway 41 near Knauz Auto Park when the vehicle he was driving crashed. Nunez was released on bond and will appear in Lake County Court at 9 a.m. Sept. 28 in Waukegan.

Fire Averted
Police and an alert real estate agent averted a fire in a home in the 1800 block of Shore Acres Drive Sept. 10, according to Lake Bluff Police Reports.

Police responded to a report of people in an empty home and found a real estate agent showing the house, according to the report. Both the officer and the agent smelled something burning at the same time and shortly thereafter a light bulb ignited. The fire was extinguished and the home secured by shutting off the first and second floor electricity.
