Lake Bluff Teen Charged With Car Burglary

The following arrest information was supplied by the Lake Bluff Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A Lake Bluff teen was charged with one count of burglary Sunday for breaking into an unlocked automobile in the vicinity of Park Lane and Mawman Avenue, according to a news release from the .

Dean Feley, 18, of Lake Bluff was arrested and charged by the Lake County State’s Attorney with one count of burglary, a Class 2 Felony, according to the release. The charge carries a possible three to seven year prison sentence.

Lake Bluff Police had been investigating car burglaries occurring in the area around Park Lane and Mawman Avenue, according to the release. After receiving a report at 4:49 a.m. Sunday of a burglarized car in the 100 block of Park Lane, police found Feley in the area and placed him under arrest.

Police later learned three additional automobiles were entered in the area and items removed, according to the release. All four were parked overnight unlocked.

The Lake Bluff Police Department is continuing to work with the Lake County State’s Attorney’s office to determine if additional charges will be brought against Feley, according to Bluff Deputy Police Chief David Belmonte.

Feley was also charged with unlawful consumption of alcohol, a misdemeanor. He is free on a $30,000 recognizance bond and will appear in Lake County Court August 30.
