Man Cited for Shoplifting Cognac in Lake Forest

Driving under the influence

June 15: An officer stopped Ricardo Santiago, 39, of Chicago, after observing him swerve across the center lane on Green Bay Road several times. Santiago exhibited a strong odor of alcohol, admitted to drinking and failed three field sobriety tests. He wastaken into custody and later produced a breath sample indicating a blood alcohol content of.207. He was processed and released after posting bond.

No valid license, curfew violation

June 14: An officer stopped two female juveniles driving near Deerpath at Western. The driver did not possess a valid license and was taken intocustody. Both teens were cited for a curfew violation as well. Both were released to a parent with a July court date.

Unlawful control of cannabis

June 12: Officers responded for a traffic crash on Waukegan Road at North Shore Drive. Leeann E. Harris, 21, of Gurnee, one ofthe drivers, was found to be driving on a suspended license and taken into custody. Cannabis and a smoking pipe were located in her car as well. She was cited for all three violations, processed and released on bond with a July court date.

Retail theft

June 11: Officers responded to a grocery store in the 800 block of North Western Avenue for a possible shoplifting in progress. Upon arrival, they located Matthew J. Bice, 28, of Wheaton, being restrained by store employees who alleged they caught Bice leaving the store with a bottle of cognac. Bice admitted to stealing the bottle. Officers searching Bice located three additional bottles of alcohol hidden on his person. He was taken into custody, processed and released with a July court date.

Consumption of alcohol by minor

June 8: Officers responded to Route 41 at Westleigh Road to investigate traffic crash. An officer located female juvenile was located in one of the cars who had been drinking. She was cited for consumption of alcohol by aminor.
