Lake Forest Fire Department Offers Free Community Class

Residents are invited to learn more about the fire department's functions through this new program.

A new program similar to the Lake Forest Police Department’s Citizens Police Academy will be offered by the Lake Forest Fire Department this year.

The class will take place from 7-9:30 p.m. on Thursdays beginning Feb. 6 at the Public Safety Building, 255 W. Deerpath. There is no charge for the course.

The program is designed to promote and enhance citizens’ understanding and awareness of the role of the Lake Forest Fire Department in the community. The objective of the course is not to prepare graduates to become firefighters, but to instill a greater general knowledge of the many functions of the Lake Forest Fire Department.
